It was now sunrise and the ship was still chasing yours. "Look! He's right on top of us!" Inigo said. "I wonder if he's using the same wind we are using." He questioned. "Whoever he is, he's too late. See?" Vizzini said as he pointed at a large, tall, cliff.

"The Cliffs of Insanity!" You were frightened by how tall it was. "I don't want to go up that thing!" You yelled. "Too bad princess." Vizzini replied.

"We're safe. Only Fezzik is strong enough to go up our way." He said. "He'll have to sail around for hours." They set up the rope and pulled you off the ship despite your complaints.

Fezzik started climbing uo the rope with all of you latched onto him. Everything was going well until you saw a masked figure climb onto the rope aswell.

"He's climbing the rope and he's gaining on us." Inigo said in worry. "Inconcievable." He sure does love that word...

"Climb faster!" Vizzini ordered. "I thought I was going faster." He responded. "You were supposed to be this colossus. You were this great legendary thing. And yet, he gains." Vizzini lectured him. You honestly felt bad for him.

"Well, i'm carrying three people, and he only has himself." Fezzik argued. "I do not accept excuses. I'm gonna have to find myself a new giant, that's all." "Don't say that Vizzini. Please?"

The man below was climbing the rope quite fast. You ignored the other two's banter and focused on the man dressed in black.

As you saw the top of the cliff, Inigo grabbed onto the rope and grabbed your hand and pulled you up. The other two got up by themselves. Vizzini rushed to the rope and pulled out a knife, trying to cut the rope so that the mysterious figure doesn't get up.

The man below was gaining speed when he saw what Vizzini was trying to do. Although his attempts were in vain as Vizzini cut the rope before he could reach the top. He fell, but caught himself on a small rock on the cliff.

"He's got very good arms." Fezzik said to Inigo. "He didn't fall? Inconcievable!" Vizzini said, using that word once again. "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means." Inigo said to Vizzini who glared at him.

The man tried to climb the rocks but failed in the process. "My god, he's climbing." Inigo said. "Whoever he is, he's obviously seen us with the princess and must, therefore, die." Vizzini stated. "You, carry her." Vizzini said pointing at Fezzik who walked toward you. "We'll head out for the Guilder frontier. If he falls, fine. If not, the sword." Vizzini told Inigo.

"I'm going to duel him left handed." He said. "You know what a hurry we're in!" He yelled. "It's the only way I can be satisfied. If I use my right, over too quickly." Inigo said. "Oh, have it your way." Vizzini said while walking off. Inigo looked down at the man. "You be careful. People in masks cannot be trusted." Fezzik said to him in concern.

Inigo looked touched by his concern. "I'm waiting!" Vizzini said, annoyed. Fezzik grabbed your hand and you walked with him.

"Hello there." Inigo greeted the man. He looked up at Inigo. "Slow going?" Inigo asked.

"Look, I don't mean to be rude, but this is not as easy as it looks, so I'd appreciate it if you didn't distract me." The unknown man said. "Sorry." Inigo said with a smile. "Thank you." He said. Inigo pulled out his sword and started practicing his moves while waiting for the other man to climb up.

"I do not suppose you could speed things up?" Inigo asked impatiently. "If you're in such a hurry, you could lower a rope or tree branch, or find something useful to do." He said. "I could do that. I've got some rope up here. But I do not think you would accept my help, since I am only waiting around to kill you."

"That does put a damper in our relationship." The man agreed. "But I promise I will not kill you until you reach the top." Inigo compromised. "That's very comforting. But i'm afraid you'll have to wait." He said back. "I hate waiting." Inigo said, annoyed. "I could give you my word as a Spaniard." Inigo said right after. "No good. I've known to many Spaniards." The masked figure said.

"Is there anyway you'll trust me?" He asked. "Nothing comes to mind." The man on the rock said. Inigo sighed. "I swear on the soul of my father, Domingo Montoya, you will reach the top alive." He swore seriously. "Throw me the rope."

Inigo went to go grab the rope and threw it down for him to grab on to.

Once he finally pulled himself to the top of the cliff, Inigo was there to grab him and make sure he didn't fall. "Thank you." The other man said while pulling out his sword. "Well, wait, wait, wait. We'll wait until you're ready." Inigo proposed. "Again, thank you." He said as he stumbled onto the ground.

"I do not mean to pry, but you don't by any chance happen to have six fingers on your right hand?" Inigo asked him. The man dressed in black looked at him weirdly. "Do you always start conversations this way?" He asked. "My father was slaughtered by a six fingered man." He stated. The other man held up his right hand, showing just five fingers.

Inigo smiled. "He was a great sword maker, my father." He explained. "When the six fingered man appeared, and requested a special sword, my father took the job." He pulled out his sword and gave it to the man to look at. "He slaved a year before it was done."

"I've never seen it's equal." The man said while giving it back to Inigo. "The six fingered man returned and demanded it, but at one tenth his promised price. My father refused. Without a word, the six fingered man slashed him through the heart." He paused. "I loved my father. So naturally I challenged his murderer to a duel. I failed." "The six fingered man left me alive...but he gave me these." Inigo said as he pointed to the scars on his cheeks.

"How old were you?" The stranger asked. "I was 11 years old. When I was strong enough, I dedicated my life to the study of fencing. So the next time we meet, I will not fail" He said as the other man was listening intently. I will go up to the six fingered man and say,"

"Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die."

"You've done nothing but study swordplay?" The man asked. "More pursue it than study, lately. You see, I cannot find him. It has been 20 years now, i'm starting to lose confidence. I just work for Vizzini to pay the bills. There's not a lot of money in revenge." Inigo said.

"Well, I certainly hope you find him someday." The man said while standing up. "You're ready, then?" He asked. "Whether I am or not, you've been more than fair."

"You seem a decent fellow, I hate to kill you." Inigo said. "You seem a decent fellow, I hate to die." Inigo smiled and prepared. "Begin."

And so, the two fenced for awhile until the masked man got his sword to Inigo's neck. "Kill me quickly." He said in disappointment. "I would as soon destroy a stained glass window as an artist like yourself." He replied. "However, since I can't have you following me, either..." The masked figure used his sword and swung it on top of Inigo's head, barely touching him.

Even so, Inigo dramatically tumbled to the ground. "Please understand, I hold you in the highest respect." The man said as he ran off.
