31 - Don't Forget To Breathe

Leon and Henry are on foot, barely. Leon stitched up his boyfriend's wound, but it still hurts like hell. They don't know where Ashley is at all, they presumed she's further inland but it's anyone's guess.

They decided to walk toward the biggest building inland.
"You don't look too good mate." The merchant says out of nowhere, Henry and Leon pause when they see him inside some random rundown shack.
"I know that. Where's Ashley?" Henry asks, at this point desperate for information.
"The docks." The merchant says, they run off immediately towards them.

Usually, the merchant would charge for information but he's not heartless, Henry's on death's door—he can't gather any money. He doesn't want them to all die after all.

The two run down to the docks with great haste, nearly tripping and falling from their speed. It's a miracle Henry's stitches are holding.
"There!" Leon shouts, pointing in the distance they see Ashley at the end of the largest platform above the water. Less of a dock, and more of a short pier.

Leon runs down, and Henry's beginning to lose his adrenaline. It's starting to hurt worse. But he's still kicking—barely.
"Wake up!" Leon says, shaking Ashley awake.
"Leon...?" She mumbles as Leon carries her back towards Henry. Henry noticed the black veins in her arm and realized she'd been infected too. And the parasite is growing worse, she's barely lucid.

Henry takes out the cures from his back pocket.
"What are those?" Leon asks,
"Vaccines for the parasite." Henry then takes Ashley's arm, slipping off her orange coat and injecting the blue substance into her shoulder. Immediately she makes a groan,
"Put her down this is gonna be gross," Henry says as Leon sets her gently onto the floor. As expected, Ashley pukes up a spray of blood before the parasite comes out. And once again, Henry stomps it like it owes him money.

Ashley's eyes slowly flutter open as she spits out the remaining blood from her mouth and takes a deep shuddering breath.
"I-I thought I was gonna die." She mumbles,
"Not today," Leon says as Henry injects him as well. After Leon expels his parasite they all three take a deep breath, sitting in the joy that they managed to rid themselves of those goddamn bugs.

"Hunnigan says a helicopter is inbound," Leon announces, seemingly getting a message through his earpiece.
"Thank god." Henry sighs when the dock suddenly shakes. They look at the edge as two massive tentacles grab onto the end of the small pier.
"Ashley stay back," Leon instructs as they watch Saddler appear from the ocean.
"Saddler!" Henry shouts in anger, this motherfucker, this cult-leading piece of shit.

Leon runs at Saddler, opening fire on him as he uses a length of parasitic tentacles to block the bullets. Henry comes in from the side, but he's whipped back by Las Plagas. He hits the wooden ground hard, holding his side and groaning.

"Henry!" Leon screams, taking out his rifle and shooting Saddler in his weird fleshy scalp. It appears to damage him for once, he makes a groan. Not a second passes before Leon tosses a flash grenade under the man.

The ear-shatteringly loud bright light completely disorients Saddler, and Leon immediately runs up and kicks him nearly four feet away.
"Looks as if your partner didn't make it." Saddler grimaces. Leon looks over at him, losing focus for one moment. Saddler picks him up too, but throws him harder. Leon hits the ground wrong, his knee bending back the opposite way as he screams in agony.

Henry stumbles to his feet and tries to run to Leon, to help him up when Saddler charges at him. Henry is shoved against the railing of the dock, Saddler strangling him with the tamed parasite. The slimy and disturbed tentacles wrapping around his neck. Henry pulls out a grenade, tossing it behind them in hopes of distracting Saddler enough for him to let go.
