Henry and Leon were running on nothing besides adrenaline, they ran out of water a day ago, and they didn't even bring any food. To say they felt shitty would be a wild understatement. But the need to save Ashley fueled their movements as they docked their boat on the island.
Rushing inland, following a vague idea of where Ashley's captors took her, they find themselves in a factory of sorts.
"What is this place?" Leon asks,
"I don't know, look around for baby eagle."The place looks old yet still functional, almost industrial yet medicinal. Henry then sees a map, it appears to be some sort of research lab. Nothing's of help until he sees a room labeled simply "Serra". As Leon looks around Henry runs off, only muttering,
"I'll be right back." Before completely disappearing. He wanders down corridor after corridor, each one seeming darker and more abandoned than the other until he reaches the door. Surrounded by old crumbling concrete there's a metal door with a large keyhole in it. Henry takes out the key, then slides it into the lock and turns it. "Yes!" He says to himself.
The door swings open to unveil a lab, just as Luis had described it. It's not too big, there's some sort of surgical table in the center of the room. Against the walls are counters with matching shelves and cabinets. There are dozens of binders labeled in various ways, some with drawings, some in English, some in Spanish.
Test tubes, pipes, beakers, syringes, and microscopes. Everything you'd expect from a secrets laboratory, nothing here seems of much use. Why did Luis feel the need to give them access to this place? It's just a bunch of studies.
However, Henry then notices a small black briefcase-like container. It's sat just beside a stack of papers, all of which look to be results of some kind. The case is vague and black, the words "Las Plagas Antigen" are written on top in messy marker. It's exactly how Henry would expect Luis's handwriting to look like.
Henry opens the case and finds five syringes, all holding a specific dose of a strange blue substance.
ANTIGEN ADMINISTRATION
INTRAMUSCULAR INJECTION:
IF THE INFECTED PERSON OR PERSON(S) ARE STILL ABLE TO MAINTAIN SELF CONTROL; TAKE ONE DOSE OF ANTIGEN, INJECT DIRECTLY INTO DELTOID MUSCLE. EFFECTS SHOULD BECOME NOTICEABLE IMMEDIATELY.
IF NOTHING OCCURS WITHIN FIVE MINUTES OF INJECTION, TERMINATE THE PATIENT.
NOTE: IT TAKES APPROXIMATELY TEN HOURS FOR THE MENTAL EFFECTS OF LAS PLAGAS TO DISSIPATE. DO NOT BE ALARMED.
"Thank you, Luis," Henry says, picking up one of the needles and smiling. They can rid themselves of this horrid parasite, this disgusting disease. With nothing to lose, Henry follows the instructions perfectly. With a steady hand, he injects the blue liquid into his muscle tissue.
At first, nothing seemed off, then suddenly his esophagus started to burn. As if he was gonna throw up, or something was climbing up his throat. Then involuntarily, he pukes up a splattering of dark red blood. The red splatters to the ground below as Henry watches the parasite itself land on the ground.
He looks down at the strange creature, almost like a little fleshy crab. He shivers, immediately stomping on the parasite until it was mush. Strangely, he doesn't feel bad, he actually feels great. Aghast at the effectiveness of the antigen, Henry stuffs the other four syringes into his back pocket.
As Henry steps foot out of the lab he watches a stone fall to the floor, then a rope gripping onto his ankle as he's hoisted into the air. Just like Leon did before him but the brunette unintentionally swings into a wall, a sharp pain piercing his side as he's impaled by a sharp piece of metal. Then he swings back off of it, leaving his side with a hole.
