Pre-Hogwarts ~ Letters
----------------She ran. She ran faster than her legs would take her. Faster than she normally would. Like her life depended on it. Her ebony hair flowing in the wind behind her; boots now covered in mud. Rain was drenching her hair as her small figure ran through the field.
She saw a manor in the distance. Her goal, her aim. Reach it. She trudged along the, what felt like, infinite sea of grass. She saw the manor growing in size as she got closer, then she looked down. It felt like, all of a sudden, the ground was getting closer. Her hands hit the ground, dark, olive skin scraping on pebbles, dirt and grime covered her plain, off-white jumper, that already may have has a stain or two on it, her sky, blue jeans, with beautiful embroidered designs, her golden scarf and her black doc martens she put on before she realised it was raining.
She groaned as she sat up, but then remembered the letter in her hand and sprung back into a sprint towards the large manor. She raced around the side and saw a young boy, standing there with a little umbrella, his small, tan skinned figure looking around. Two tall figures standing close to him, inside the doorway, one dark skinned, one tanned.
"J!" she screamed, holding up the, now, stained envelope.
The small boy turned around to face her, revealing himself as James Potter. His smile grew twice in size, he dropped his umbrella in the mud and ran towards her.
"ZEN!" he joyfully screamed. He grabbed her hand tightly and dragged her inside the huge manor, she looked at his red and gold umbrella as they passed it, seeing the woman figure pick up something on the floor next to it.
"Have you got it?" she asked, excitedly, as soon as they got in the living room. She looked at him, he was wearing a maroon, knitted sweater -that he usually wore for quidditch out back- some cuffed, black jeans with golden stitching, and a pair of fluffy pink socks (as well as his red converse but he took them off upon entering).
"Have I got it? Are you mad! Of course I've got it! I'd never loose it!" he bragged, putting his hand in his pocket and searching for something. His honey, brown eyes widened as he couldn't find it in his pockets and he looked around.
"Shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot! Merlin's sake! Where is it?!" He panicked. He heard Zena snigger and turned on his heals. He gave her a sceptical look. "What you laughin at?"
She snickered even more and pointed to the woman figure from before, Euphemia Potter, who was holding up a letter that looked just like Zena's one. She was wearing her dark brown hair in a low bun. The pink floral design scattered across her black dress hung across her curves, gold frame glasses sitting on the bridge of her nose. Her eyes filled with kindness and a small smirk on her face. James turned around and saw his mum holding his letter, "oh.. heh.." he chuckled sheepishly and gently took the letter from his mum.
"Gracias mama" he said and hastily turned back round to Zena, "on three?"
"One.." he started.
"Two" she continued.
"Thr-" he cut himself off as Zena had already started opening hers, "Hey! Unfair you little cheat!" He complained but opened his as well.
"Ya snooze ya lose, Jampot!" she grinned at him innocently with a mischievous glint in her eye, she opened and read her letter, she let out a loud squeal. James, being his dramatic self, put his hands over his ear and overexaggerated an eyeroll.
"Oh pisss...." she cut her self off when she saw the look her 'aunt' Mia gave her, "ss...tachios are.. lovely this time of year."
"Ten cuidado, o te daré la chancla" Mia (Euphemia) warned her (basically) daughter. (Be careful, or I'll give you the flipflop)
"Lo siento, tía" Zena apologised as she sided-eyed James, who was sniggering at her, and glared at him. (Sorry, aunty)
"Cupa rahō" Zena said to James and she heard someone let out a chuckle. She turned to see her 'uncle', Fleamont Potter, enter the room and handing her a blanket, as she was still in her muddy, wet clothing. (shut up)
"Watch your tone Zenny" he playfully warned her, crossing his arms. His navy blue, woolly jumper contrasting with his pure white joggers and neon green socks.
Zena groans annoyed, "Why does everyone speak all the languages I know!" she complains and rolls her eyes playfully.

Zena exited out of the lime green flames, brushing off ash from her brown and white thin stripped jumper -that she stole from her brother- and her maroon bootleg jeans with a white belt loosely hanging around her waist. She heard the fire crackle and emit again and a tall, lanky 16 year old walked out. His dark hair complemented his tanned skin and his plain, emerald green jumper and dark blue jeans.
"Im just sayin', if you wanted that jumper, you could've just asked Ze" Her older brother, Naveen told her with a smug look.
"Oh please, Ve. We both know if I asked you would have made me 'rent it out for the day' instead of giving it to me like a good brother. Plus, I'm your little sister, you can't be mad at me for long" I teased, winking at him and smiling cheekily.
"Watch who you're talking to." he teased.
"Yeah! I'm talking to a snobbish arse!" Zena teased.
"Zenny! Navvy! Wait for us!" a small voice yelled out. Naveen turned around and opened his arms for a young, 10 year old girl, who came sprinting at him full speed, as she jumped into his arms, her knee length, baby blue skirt flowing behind her in the wind and her pure white shirt covered by a sky blue, woolly cardigan. Her dark brown hair messily sitting in a bun and her lightly tanned skin having dirt and scratches on it.
A young, 10 year old, east asian boy came sprinting after her yelling, "Kiara! Come back here! Don't run off without me!". He ran up to them all and saw his other sister and his brother, "Oh thank merlin she went to you two! Hiya Zen, Nav" he greeted, smiling at each of them, his white collar, under his plain grey jumper, was all wrinkled, his black muggle tracksuit bottoms and white trainers covered with splatters of mud again.
"Sammy? What are you two doing here?" Zena asked curiously, picking a few twigs out of Sama's hair.
"Weren't you two supposed to be with Ma? And why are you both so dirty?" Naveen questioned, worried about his siblings. He licked his thumb and tried to wipe dirt off Kiara's face.
"Ma was angry so Sammy got us out of the house and we came to you." Kiara said while fiddling with the collar of Naveen's jumper.
His and Zena's face fell, "Again? Well, come shop with us for our stuff for Hogwarts, yeah?" Zena said while reaching out for Kiara and ruffling Sama's hair, silently asking if he and Kiara were ok. Sama nodded in response and Zena nodded her head towards Naveen, signaling Sama to talk to him while she takes care of Kiara.
"Are you two ok? What happened with Ma?" Naveen asked.
"Yeah, we're ok. Ma was drinking so i grabbed Kiara and left through the backyard and took the knight bus. The floo would've been too loud and she would have caught us" Sama responded.
"Smart move" Naveen sighed, "Did she have any clue?" he asked, nodding to Kiara, who was currently skipping along the streets of Diagon Ally with Zena."Yeah.. we can't protect her for long." Sama responded sadly.
"I'm sorry.." Naveen said, looking down guiltily.
"For what?" Sama asked.
"For leaving you and Kiara with.. her" He responded. Sama put his hand on Naveen's shoulder.
"Nav... its ok. It's not your fault your going to a school in Scotland. Plus she adopted us all from the same Orphanage, a Wizard one. So that means, even though she's a muggle, me and Kiara will eventually join you two!" Sama reassured him.
"Your right." Naveen smiled to himself, until he furrowed his eyebrows in realisation, "Hey! I'm the older one i'm supposed to be giving the talk" Naveen protested.
"Everyone needs a little reassurance sometimes" Sama smiled at his older brother.
