41. Neteyam

I couldn't be more mad at Zari'a than I was now.

How could she say that? Why would she do this to me?

When I wake up I'm held down by these belts. I look beside me and see Zari'a is still sleeping.

"Love." I whisper. "Zari'a?"

"Hi. I'm Dr. Hart." The lady introduces herself.

I remember her. Zari'a showed me her.

"Today is a great day for you." Dr. Hart says, "I hope your wife wakes up soon because it would make today easy."

"How many days?" I ask her.

"You have been here for three days." She says.

"Isn't it," I ask, "early?"

"Yes it is." She says, "But there has been an error in the system. Everyone is very busy today."

"Right." I lie down.

I let myself try to relax.

"Zaria!" Dr Hart shakes her awake. "Wake up. We have a lot to do today."

She sighs and takes a tool. She stabs Zari'a with it.

I hiss at her.

"It's okay." She tells me, "It will wake her."

Zari'a wakes up in shock. She struggles.

"Relax." Dr Hart tells her.

"Love," I get her attention.

"Neteyam." She relaxes back down. "I'm so sorry. I just couldn't-"

"It's okay now. It's okay." I tell her, "You will see that everything is okay."

"I'm going to make a quick call." Dr Hart tells us.

"Today?" Zari'a asks. I nod.

"Okay. Let's get started." Dr Hart gives us a look.

My heart runs fast.

Dr Hart picks up a tool from her table.

Everything shuts out.

Dr Hart gets down with her tool. She's doing something but I'm not sure what.

Zari'a is free and gets up.

Dr Hart does the same thing to me. Then I'm free.

"Let's go." She says.

We had to climb through vents amd sneak past soldiers which was very scary.

"We need to go through there but we won't be able to get past them." Dr Hart refers to the two soldiers walking around with flash lights.

"We can do it." Zari'a says.

"Okay." Dr Hart says.

Me and Zari'a jump down.

I pick up an object from the ground and smash the soldiers suit. I pull the soldier out and break his neck. 

I turn around and Zari'a has finished her job as well.

Zari'a helps the doctor down and we go through the doors.

"Harding is in that room with Emily and a few soldiers. We have to pass through here." She says,

"Shit." Zari'a says, "I can't do it."

"You have to. In the next room is Gavin, we have to get him and we can leave." Dr Hart says.

"I can't kill her." Zari'a says.

I realise what she's talking about.

"It's okay. Remember you are doing this for Enami." Dr Hart says.

She shakes her head.

"We have to go now." Dr Hart says.

Dr Hart walks in the room first.

"Dr Hart what are you doing?" Harding asks, "You are meant to be with the blues."

"About that..."

I use the gun to shoot down the two soldiers.

Emily breaks the gun and throws me across the room.

Zari'a stabs Harding with a smashed piece of glass a few times before Emily grabs her hand.

Emily slams her into the wall.

"Please stop!" Zari'a says, "Enami! Please-"

Emily smashes Zari'a against the wall again and again and again.

I snap Hardings neck and try to pull Emily off of Zari'a.

Dr Hart opens the door and gets Gavin out.

"Kill her Zari'a!" Dr Hart yells.

Zari'a sees the door closing.

Zari'a stabs Emily in her metal eye and shoves her into the room.

The door locks her in.

Zari'a catches her breath.

Bang!

Zari'a finches.

"Let's go before she breaks through." Gavin says.

I take Zari'as hand and run with her.

"She's coming after us." Zari'a says.

"Shit!" Gavin says.

Emily is bolting for us at a scary speed.

"Zari'a! You have to do it or I will!" Dr Hart yells.

"No!" Zari'a says,

Emily throws a pen that hits Gavin right in the head. He drops.

"NO." Dr Hart yells.

"Come on!" Zari'a pulls Dr Hart.

We climb through the vents.

We make it outside.

The sun is shining down on us and the heat feels amazing.

The air feels fresher.

Zari'a screams.

I turn around and Emily is on top of Zari'a.

I see Tsa'vi in the distance calling for us.

Dr Hart picks up a stick and stabs Emily with it.

Emily gets the stick out of her then stabs Dr Hart right in her throat.

Tsa'vi is running towards us.

I run to Emily and try pull her off of Zari'a.

If Zari'a wasn't going to kill her. I will.
