If a star fell from the sky
every time I thought of you
the world would be so dark
the night a deathly hueIf a leaf fell from a tree
every time I wished you near
the forest would be bare
a winter all the yearIf a wave stopped crashing in
every time I saw your smile
the shore would be so bleak
a barren rocky pileIf a song was never sung
each time I ached for you
the land would be so quiet
pleasures would be fewBut none of this is so
the world keeps turning round
and though you're gone from sight
by love we're always bound.
