"MEGAN!" Elizabeth shouted in my ear which scared the living soul out of me. And unfortunately, I dropped the whole stack of books which were in my arms. A group of people stopped in their tracks and gave us weird looks.
Where were we? A bus stop because I needed to get to the closest library for some research.
"Oh my god! Eliza, what was that for?" I asked and grabbed all the books that were on the dirty ground.
"Why didn't you tell me about about you and Brook?" She shrieked and I told her to quiet down.
"We just went on a date," I stated. "You say it like it isn't a big deal. Gimme the details, derpy derp." We walked into the bus and tapped our Oyster cards on the card reader. We took a seat at the back and I looked at her.
"It was really sweet. He made his dad hang up polaroid pictures of us in the shed. And we had a picnic. You know how much I love picnic dates. Anyway, we just chatted and like you guessed, smooched." I knew she was on the urge to scream so I put my hand on her mouth and gave her a glare.
Elizabeth being the disgusting person she was, she licked the palm of my hand. "Ew!" I wiped my hand on her clothes and she rolled her eyes.
"You do know, I have a habit of touching everything around me." I smirked.
"I blame you if I get an unknown virus." She said grabbing a bottle of mineral water from her school backpack.
"Oh sure. I've already made a speech for your boring ass funeral. Elizabeth, the most disgusting person I have ever met. She went through a lot of pain from the unknown virus because she licked my hand. Such an idiot she is."
"News flash: you aren't funny." We got off the bus and went straight to the local library. But Elizabeth not focusing in life, she bumped into someone.
"Ahh, shit." She cussed and straightened her uniform. Thank god she wore school pants, unlike me, who wore skirts. Blame mum. 'More guys would fall for you if you wear skirts,' Mum's exact words.
"I'm really sorry." The person she bumped into apologized. It was a guy and he sounded like he wasn't from around here.
"Nah, no worries. I apologise for bumping into you." She sounded chill but I knew she wasn't. I've known her for a year, and I know her eyes were in hearts.
"My name's Ryuk. What's yours?" He asked. Great. They were going to start getting together. Sheesh.
"Elizabeth, but call me Eliza. I need to go, but can I get your number?" She asked shyly. My god, when did she ever get shy? She was always so confident. They exchanged numbers and we walked into the library. "Is it just a coincidence that he looks that demon called Ryuk from Death Note?"
"I don't watch anime, idiot."
We walked inside and went straight to the History section. I took out the History of the Three Religions from one of the shelves and sat at a table for two. Elizabeth came walking to the table with a magazine.
"Aren't you going to study or something?" I questioned her, jotting down points about Judism.
"Exams are over for fucks sake. We only have a week until Parents Meet Teachers then it's the holidays." She skidded through the pages. "Holy fu-"
"Enough of the swearing, Eliza. Pet peeves for goodness sake," I groaned and took a glance at her. She was pretty focused in the magazine this time.
"Yo, Eliza! Earth to Elizabeth! Look! Dan and Phil!" I lied and she jumped up from her seat.
"Where, Megan? Where?"
"Nowhere. Whatcha reading?" I cheekily grinned. She rolled her eyes and handed me the magazine.
