Soon enough, a huge crowd was formed, and Adam and Marcus were trying their best to pull Brooklyn off of Zack. Sure enough, it was horrifyingly difficult. Elizabeth and Caroline brought me up to my feet and I couldn't do or say anything. "Megan, are you okay?" Caroline asked and shook both my shoulders. I couldn't stand looking at Brooklyn physically hurting someone. I felt so useless, not able to stop my own boyfriend from hurting someone. "Brooklyn, stop!" Elizabeth, who was clearly tipsy beside me, jumped up in surprise. Probably because I shouted and she never thought I'd open my mouth anytime soon.

To my surprise, Brooklyn stopped, took a glance at me, looked back down at Zack and backed up. "Oh my god." He pulled his hair in frustration and ran out of the crowded mansion.

"Brook-" I prepared myself to run for him but Caroline pulled me back. "Caroline, let me go." I tried to yank my arm from her tough grip but she didn't buge. Although she is shorter than me, she's also tough because of the taekwondo classes she has every Saturday.

"No! Remember you'll be in uni in a few months and he will have to have self-control." I grit my teeth and instead of running out of the mansion, I ran to Zack, checking if he was okay.

I pushed through the crowd, who were circuling Zack, and kneel down next to Zack. "Are you okay, Zack? I'm really sorry about Brooklyn. I didn't know he'd do that and I've never seen him do that before. So like-" I stop the ramble when Zack started chuckling.

"It's okay. I must say, he's a real fighter. But yeah, he had a reason to beat me up. You should rather be happy."

"What?" I choked out. I gave him a weird look, like he was insane. How could he allow Brooklyn to punch the hell out of him? "It proves he really cares for you. And I think that's a warning for every guy here not to mess with him and his beloved," He laughed and I sat there, holding his arm with furrowed eyebrows.

"That still isn't an exception for him to go straight up beat you up," I argued. I was obviously not happy and satisfied with Brooklyn's actions. Victoria and David wouldn't accept this type of behaviour from any one of their kids.

"He could've at least just back you up to the wall and just talk to you about it."

"That doesn't happen in the bro code when you kiss someone's girlfriend," He chuckled and I rolled my eyes.

"I'm okay, Megan. I just have swollen lips and a pretty big bump on my cheek, and fuck yes it does sting but go after Brooklyn. He looked like he fucked up big time and godknowswhere he ran to." Neil helped Zack get up and brought him to the sink. I sighed and before I walked out of the mansion, Caroline tried to stop me again but I did my best with puppy eyes. She sighed and let go of her tight grip on my upper arm.

I rubbed the mark for a while and walked to John who probably didn't know what happened because he was simply laying down at the garden, next to their huge swimming pool, with three red solo cups next to his head.

"John, are you okay?" I sat next to him and looked at the night sky. A few stars were seen and for once in my teen life, I saw a constellation. I had never understood how people saw constellations but here I was, sitting next to a drunken host of a party, surprised of seeing the Scorpion constellation. It wasn't as beautiful as everyone described it as but it was satisfying enough for my own eyes to see. "As you can see, I'm a little too drunk. What happened? Saw your prince charming running out and definitely heard some hassle. Tried to get up, but collapsed with the next step."

"Long story short, Brooklyn nearly killed Zack." Maybe I over exaggerated but if I hadn't shouted Brooklyn's name, it might've got too far. "Do you need help to get up?" I changed the subject. Talking more about Brooklyn would only cause me to worry even more and call out a search party.
