RWBY reacts to Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

Convoy

The chapter begins with Oscar and Ren pushing open the village doors and running out to the street. They look down the street and see some trucks driving away. The remains of Adam's forces in the attack have retreated. Sumi comes out from hiding and runs up to them, hugging Ren.

"Sumi." Ren said, relieved.

"Thank god the kids are safe." Summer said, relieved.

"Wait, where's Oobleck?? Wasn't he with her??" Tai asked, concerned.

Oscar realizes that Oobleck isn't with Sumi. "Oobleck... where's Oobleck?"

Ren asks Sumi in Tibetan. She points in the direction the trucks went. Oscar understands what it means.

"Oscar!" Ruby shouts as she runs up to him.

"They took Oobleck!" Oscar told her as he runs over to a stationary truck.

Ruby follows him with a worried expression. "Oh, God... It's because he had the dagger."

"I know." Oscar said as he pulls a dead soldier out of the driver's seat. He sees Ruby getting inside the truck. "Hey -"

"No time to argue. We gotta go!" Ruby said, interrupting him.

"Yeah, as much as I don't want my sister to be involved, we don't have time to argue." Yang said.

"Alright, well, at least scooch over." Oscar said.

Ruby moves over to the passenger seat. Oscar gets behind the wheel and closes the door. He waves goodbye to Ren and Sumi, who wave back. He drives off fast away from the village on the road near the cliff and catches up to the trucks.

"They must've taken him in the lead car." Oscar said.

"We gotta stop 'em before Ivan gets ahold of him." Ruby said.

"Alright, I have an idea..." Oscar said as he opens the truck door.

"What are you doing?" Ruby asked, confused.

"I'm gonna clear the road. Here, take the wheel."

"What?"

"Just take it."

"Why didn't you just let me drive in the first place?" Ruby asked.

"I didn't think that far ahead."

Ruby rolls her eyes. "Yeah..."

"Right, you gotta make plans on the fly." Mercury chuckled.

Ruby takes the wheel and Oscar climbs out onto the truck door. "Alright, hold it steady..." He said to Ruby.

"Okay..." Ruby said.

"That's good..." Oscar said as he takes a gun out. "Alright... here we go..." He carefully aims the gun at the truck ahead of him. "A little closer..."

Suddenly, another truck appears behind them and speeds up.

"Uh oh." Blake said, worried.

"Guys, another truck is behind you." Sun warned.

The truck rams into theirs from behind. They're taken off guard and Oscar dangles from the swinging door. The enemy truck accelerates and drives alongside them. Oscar grabs hold of its side and lets go of the door.

"Oscar!" Ruby shouted as the truck speeds ahead with Oscar clinging on to it. "Hang on!"

"I'm hanging! I'm hanging!" Oscar shouted as he climbs up and kills the soldier on the truck. Another truck catches up and drives in front of the one he's on. Two soldiers open fire on his truck and it catches fire.

"Uh-oh, I gotta get off this thing!" Oscar said as he jumps to the other truck and throws the soldiers off. "My truck!"

Some small jeeps drive alongside and the men on them open fire at him. He shoots a driver and a jeep and it crashes into another. A truck pulls up and the soldiers on it shoot at Oscar. He fires back as another truck with a mounted grenade launcher on the back drives nearby. The trooper on the launcher shoots at Oscar's truck until it starts smoking.

"Black smoke. That's not good." Oscar said as he immediately jumps to the other truck and pushes the soldiers off as the previous truck explodes. More jeeps pull up next to him.

"Damn it, where do these guys come from?" Oscar asked in frustrations as a grenade launcher hits his truck again and starts to catch fire. He jumps to another and keeps shooting the others with an assault rifle he picked up. The grenade truck also keeps shooting and flames arise on Oscar's truck.

Oscar jumps to yet another truck before it drives up a ramp onto a higher ledge. He sees the grenade launcher truck below on the lower ledge and he jumps down. He lands in the back and throws the trooper out before getting on the launcher.

"Now we're talking." Oscar said, grinning. He destroys the jeeps that come up behind him. Ruby drives up while being chased by more trucks trying to ram her.

Oscar, get these guys off me!" Ruby shouted.

"You got it!" Oscar said as he blows up the vehicles surrounding Ruby before they can ram her off the cliff. He keeps hitting the pursuing jeeps and trucks until the grenade truck starts smoking as well. He abandoned it and jumps to the back of Ruby's truck. They see a big truck right in front of them.

"You okay back there?" Ruby asked.

"Yeah! There's the lead car! Gun it!" Oscar shouts.

"Hold on!" Ruby said as she speeds ahead to the truck in front.

Oscar grins. "HAHA! That's right, you bastards! We got you now -" A soldier appears on the back of the lead car and holds up a rocket launcher. "- oh, crap!"

"You had to open your mouth." Emerald deadpans.

The soldier fires a rocket and Ruby swerves the truck off the road and it goes over the edge of the cliff. 

"Oh my god!!" Summer shouted, worried.

"Ruby! Oscar!" Glynda said.

"Oh god. Please tell they're not-" Yang began.

"It's okay, they're alive." Theo assured.

"They are?" Weiss asked. "Thank goodness."

The truck stops and the soldier looks towards the cliff where they went over. "There's no way they survived that. Let's go." One of the soldiers said. The truck resumes driving. A few seconds later, Oscar pulls himself up onto the cliff. 

"C'mon..." Oscar said as he helps Ruby up. They both lay down on the ground for a moment to catch their breath. "Just like old times, huh?"

Ruby smiles, panting. "You could say that... So, now what?" They sit up and see a very large, old monastery with several towers in the near distance.

"We head to the creepy, old monastery. What else?" Oscar replied as he takes binoculars out and looks through. He sees the remaining trucks from the convoy parked by the monastery's entrance. Two soldiers are leading Oobleck away.

"There's Oobleck." Oscar said as he sees Adam walk up to them. One of the soldiers gives him the Phurba dagger. "Damn it."

"They're too late." Weiss said, worried.

"Not for long." Winter said.

"What's happening?" Ruby asked.

"Taurus has him." Oscar replied as he sees Adam take the dagger and walks into the monastery. The soldiers follow him while dragging Oobleck along.

"Oh, no..." Ruby said, worried.

Oscar looks at her with a determined expression. "You ready for this?"

She sighs. "As I'll ever be."

Oscar stands up and pulls Ruby to her feet. They start to make their way to the monastery.
