After signing the marriage papers, Irtaza dropped Anum off at her house.
As she was about to exit the car, he firmly grasped her hand, leaving a bruise, and warned her, "Jaan, do din baad tum pure tareeqey se meri hojaogi..aur agar mujhse hushyaari ki, toh-" (after two days you will be completely mine, and if you try to act smart with me, then)
Before he could finish his sentence, Anum, filled with fear, interrupted with a low voice, "I won't do anything, please don't hurt anyone."
"Good girl," he replied, gently pecking her lips while she tightly closed her eyes. "Now go home, I'll see you soon, baby."

Anum entered inside her house, where Emaan and Fatima were already waiting for her.
"Anum, itni deir? Kahan reh gayi thi?" (how late? Where have you been?) Fatima inquired Anum worriedly.
"Haan api, hamne Itne call kiye apko" (we called you so many times) Emaan asked her as well.
"Sorry ami, woh.. woh me alina ke saath thi, woh mujhe Apne ghar le gayi thi kuch notes dene, time ka pata hi nahi chala and my phone was on silent." (I was with Alina (her college friend) she took me to her house to give me some notes, I lost the track of time)
For the first time, she had to lie to her mom.
"Larkiyon ka itni deir tak ghar se bahir rehna theek nahi hota, khair.. ao tumhe khana laga dun.
(It's not good for girls to stay outside of the home for long, anyways.. come I'll serve you dinner.) Fatima's voice laced with disappointment."Mujhe bhook nahi ami, I just wanna sleep. Abu aur bhai Kahan hain?" (I'm not hungry. Where is dad and brother?)
"Woh kuch kaam se bahir gaye hain." Fatima relied to her. (They've went out for some work)
"Okay," saying this Anum went to her room.
The next morning, Anum's phone was ringing continuously, but she was too sleepy to answer. She tended to sleep to escape her problems whenever she was upset.
After a while, the phone rang again, and half-asleep, she answered without checking the caller ID.
"Hello?" She asked the person on the other end, groggily.
"Hello ki bachi! Kahan ghum ho? Kis aashiq ke saath ghum ho?" Hearing the voice, all the sleep flew out of her system. (Where have you been? Which lover have you been with?)
"Wwoh..me..sorry.I.I was sleeping." She replied.
He started laughing, "tumhare liye ek surprise hai Jaan, abhi kuch deir mein mil jayega tumhe." (I have a surprise for you, you'll get it some time)
"What surprise?" She asked him, fear erupting her body. She knows he cannot give her anything pleasant.
"You'll see it soon, baby. Just act according to me and nobody will get hurt. Love you, Jaan " He said to her and disconnected the call.
Anum started pacing back and forth in the room, she felt as if a huge rock has been placed on her chest.
Emaan entered the room, "api ap uth gayi, Mariyam aunty and Ibrahim uncle are here. They look tensed, come fast downstairs." (Sister, you woke up.)
Anum got more stressed, hearing her. "Okay, I'm coming."
She quickly freshened up, dressed up and went downstairs. The uneasiness never leaving her, but just keep on increasing every passing moment.
Mariyam gave a little smile to Anum which did not reach her eyes, "Anum beta, idhar ao betho." (Child, come here sit)
Anum greeted everyone and took a seat on the couch.
"Kya huwa hai, ap sab pareshan kyun lag rahe hain?" She asked looking at everyone's tensed faces. (What happened? Why are you all looking tensed?)
Ibrahim spoke, "beta, Shehreyar Chicago chala gaya hai. He left a note." (Shehreyar has left for Chicago.)
Anum's breath hitched hearing him.
"Hamein pata hai yeh tumhare liye bohat mushkil hai, but saare logon ko aur relatives ko pata hai shaadi ka. Icliye ham baron ne yeh faisla kiya hai ke kal tumhari aur Irtaza ki shaadi hogi." (We know this is very difficult for you, but all the people and relatives are aware of this marriage. That is why we elder have decided to marry you and Irtaza tomorrow.)
"Apne ghar walon ka sochna beta, baaki tumhari marzi hai." (Think about your family's respect, child.
The rest is your decision.)Anum couldn't hold back her tears and rushed to her room, crying out in despair.
She fell on her bed and started sobbing, "Hogayi barbaad, lag gayi meri khushiyon ko aag. Why? Why God? Why is this happening to me? I have always prayed. I have never done anything bad to anyone.
Why are you not protecting me from that monster?
My Shehreyar can never leave me, I know all this is HIS doings. (I have been ruined, my happiness has been engulfed in fire)Emaan and Fatima came to the room hurriedly.
"Anum... mera bacha..bohat bura huwa jo huwa..Khuda pe bharosa rakho.. ham ne jo faisla liya hai woh tumhari behtari ke liye hai." Fatima said while stroking her hairs, Emaan was also crying seeing her sister cry. (My child.whatever happened was bad. Have trust on God. the decision we have taken is for your own betterment)
The same night, Anum tried contacting Shehreyar, but was unable to get a hold of him.
Irtaza called her, "Meri Jaan, kaisa laga mera surprise?" (How did you like my surprise)
"I know you're behind all of this." Anum replied to him, tears streaming down her face.
Irtaza let out a sinister laugh, "baby, just one night more and then I'll claim you as mine. Mujhse aur raha nahi ja raha, apna lund teri gharam chut mein dalna hai." (I can't wait anymore, I want to bury my cock in your warm cunt)
Anum closed her eyes in disgust and anger, but did not say anything.
