So I woke up. Casually at 11:30 am because that's what I do.
And saw so many kind comments on my last chapter! I am so unbelievably happy that it's good!
Update as of 3/15: I had no internet for two weeks and I just got it back. This story is kinda popping off! Thanks everyone!!! :)
Uh this one.
This is kind of... Not serious. Like at all.
The concept is you are the robot creation Ceroba and Clover built to distract this mans while trapped in the Steamworks...
Have fun reading!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
You had found yourself seated across from the robot who kind of not so kindly kidnapped you, claiming you were the love of his life even though you two had just met. Quite literally.
You may not have been conscious for long but you can tell this man has no date etiquette.
He had his elbows on the table, leaning in to see you, almost getting into your personal space bubble.
He was kind of cute so you didn't really mind. Cute like a deer who just got their legs working.
His eyes were in the shape of hearts as he stared deeply at you.
"SO... COME HERE OFTEN?" He asked, more like yelled. He clearly hadn't learned the concept of inside voices.
Unfortunately your creators hadn't given you a voice box so you had no way to respond other than blinking at him.
"OF COURSE YOU DO, THIS IS YOUR HOME NOW," he seemingly declared more for himself than for your sake.
You were fine with that. After all, you didn't have anywhere you needed to be. Or anywhere to go, really. If you were going to be dragged around by this guy all your life, that seemed a better alternative to not doing anything at all.
"ARE YOU ENJOYING THE DATE SO FAR? DO YOU NEED ANY SUSTENANCE?" He probably assumed you needed oil or something similar to grease your voice box. Nope, you just weren't made with one.
Your lack of response didn't seem to put off the robot in front of you, named Axis. He only seemed interested in talking AT you, not actually talking with you.
"GREAT PLACE FOR A FIRST DATE, ISN'T IT? GRANTED I DON'T KNOW MANY PLACES OUTSIDE OF THE STEAMWORKS AND MANY PLACES INSIDE OF THE STEAMWORKS AREN'T AS LOVELY AS HERE," he rambled and you wished it was in your capabilities to tune this guy out. You happened to be born with an empathy module thanks to the magic that was imbued in you by one of your creators.
So you listened to him prattle on about the Steamworks, about himself, about his creator, Chujin, who he seemed to idolize. He seemed like he could talk for hours on end about him. You, in turn, learned a lot about a monster and his family you have never met before. You discovered he had a daughter and wife who were both very enthusiastic and devoted to his science and research, almost as much as he did.
Your tea had gone cold. Too bad you didn't have hands... or a mouth... to drink it. Why he had purchased either of you tea was beyond you, you can't drink it and robots don't need monster food for sustenance anyway.
"...AND SO WE BUILT A ROOM WHERE IF YOU STEP ON A BUTTON, YOU CAN UNLOCK A ROOM WHERE YOU PLACE FOUR GOLDEN- OH, WAIT, I SHOULDN'T SAY TOO MUCH ABOUT THAT ROOM. IT'S A BIT SPOILER-Y AND I DON'T WANT TO RUIN THE FUN WHEN I TAKE YOU THERE NEXT WEEK," if robots could have a singsong-y tone, he would have when he was speaking to you. He had been talking about the workings of the Steamworks when you had tuned back into the conversation, you guessed.
But while he was talking, a huge gust of wind rushed through the Steamworks and blew you apart. The magic holding you together had run out. The parts used to make you scattered everywhere across the floor.
Axis looked on in silence.
"... I THINK THAT WENT WELL."
