This request is for ButtonViCat who was so kind and wonderful. They requested Clover X Child!Reader and I had an idea pop into my head right away. Hope this is good!

I've written them to be about the same age as each other, being around 10 years old. I've written this as platonic.

Warnings for this chapter: None. Only general tomfoolery and goblin core.

---------------------------------------

Originally, when Clover had convinced you to come with them down Mount Ebott you were apprehensive.

You knew they were curious about what happened to the five children who fell down and wanted justice for their disappearances.

You didn't expect to have fun once you made it down there.

The two of you met in school, both being around the same age. You appreciated their silence, not being a fan of loud noises and a bunch of rowdy kids in a room can be, well, loud. They appreciated your patience. They knew if there was anything they needed, they could rely on you.

They were still quaking in their cowboy boots when they asked you to join them on your journey. They think they saw you shaking just as much as they were when you said yes.

Now, what not many may know is that Clover has a bit of a goofy mode. They can be somewhat of a goblin with shiny object syndrome. You knew all about that, being privy to their jokes and collections of bottle caps and toy guns.

So when the two of you found yourselves in a maze full of corn, you certainly had to stop your hat wearing companion from picking every single piece of yellow deliciousness off the ground, worried about the sanitation logistics. That didn't stop the two of you from sitting on the ground at the end of the maze with two cobs of corn, munching away while smiling happily.

The Ruins were a bit daunting. You both agreed on that wholeheartedly. The pillars reaching high, some crumbling and falling apart. The puzzles were not all too difficult. The worst part was when the lights totally faded from a hallway and you were approached by a bat. Luckily that fight was easy to get through by following the instructions the bat had given you.

Neither of you wanted to fight any of the monsters in the Underground. A lot of them were super cute actually! You had encountered a posse of micro-froggits who would wave and smile at you whenever you saw them in passing. There was a monster that looked like it was made of candy corn! You even drew some pictures with one named Penilla and ripped some pages out of your own notebook and passed some crayons to Clover so they could draw too.

The one you really wanted to keep was one that the monster drew for you two. It was one of the three of you with little golden flowers decorating you, each in different spots. You had one behind your ear, Penilla had one balancing on her head, and Clover had one placed on the brim of their hat. It was a masterpiece you wanted to keep forever.

You kept it in your back pocket and smiled fondly whenever you thought about it.

Someone was watching the pair of you. It wasn't the golden flower named Flowey who would meet up with you every time you wanted to take a break. It was a hooded figure who spoke with a low voice, trying to seem as intimidating as possible.

Speaking of the golden flower, you and Clover had encountered him yet again.

"Howdy! Heh, I never really thought about how fitting my greeting was for the both of you," Flowey said while you and Clover smiled. "Anyway, how's your adventure been so far?"

"It's been fun!" You piped up while your adventuring partner nodded. "The monsters we've met have all been friendly! We even got a picture from one of them." You said while smiling brightly. Clover looked at you with a smile gracing the left side of their face. "Well, they've all been nice except one." Both of your faces fell when you mentioned the mysterious cloaked figure who you've been running into. Flowey tilted to the side.
