┏━━━━━━༻❁༺━━━━━━┓⊰᯽⊱Orem continued his slow ascend, keeping closer to the boy who had nearly fallen. He realized now that his question had been answered after all. He would care if Kale fell. That's good to know, yet he still felt so much anger towards him. Maybe he hadn't let him fall because he wanted to be the one to kill him? He wanted to watch the light fade from his horror stricken eyes as he finally understood that Orem had been waiting for the final rush. The rush from betraying his lover in the worst way possible.
Orem had switched so quickly from wanting to see Kale die to literally saving his life and showing him affection and back again to murderous intent without blinking an eye. Without even realizing what happened. The flame of hatred burned so brightly where a moment ago he felt peace and love.
"ℌ𝔢'𝔰 𝔭𝔩𝔞𝔶𝔦𝔫𝔤 𝔶𝔬𝔲. ℌ𝔢'𝔰 𝔱𝔥𝔦𝔫𝔨𝔦𝔫𝔤 𝔞𝔟𝔬𝔲𝔱 𝔥𝔢𝔯 𝔯𝔦𝔤𝔥𝔱 𝔫𝔬𝔴𝔴𝔴.”
Kale was asking for it! Begging even. The lying, sneaking, cheating whore! If he was so easily swayed to sleep with someone, he would pay. Pay dearly. And Orem would be the one collecting what's due.
Orem seethes with unbidden rage, his body actually shaking. Each crevice he gripped with such force his knuckles turned white and small pebbles broke away under his hands. Yet the wall held as if scared of angering him further. He felt invincible, as if nature itself was bowing down to his greatness. It dared not try throwing him off as it tried with Kale. Insidious knew Orem was greater than it and could not be beat. He would tear the mountain apart, leaving nothing but small piles of sand behind.
Orem took a few deep breaths as he tried to calm himself and think rationally. Why was he so angry now? Hadn't he been feeling less rage towards Kale the last day or so? It's like the higher he moved up this rock they call a monster, the more pissed he got. The more distance he put between himself and the world below, the less his thoughts made sense.
"ℑ𝔱'𝔰 𝔱𝔥𝔢 𝔴𝔢𝔞𝔨 𝔬𝔫𝔢. ℌ𝔢 𝔱𝔯𝔦𝔢𝔰 𝔱𝔬 𝔡𝔢𝔠𝔢𝔦𝔳𝔢 𝔶𝔬𝔲. 𝔇𝔢𝔠𝔢𝔦𝔳𝔢 𝔲𝔰𝔰𝔰.”
Maybe it was because he had more time to think about his sneaky bitch? Reflect on his whorish ways? Or maybe it was the thinner air? It didn't really matter, after all, Kale brought this on himself.
As Orem kept telling himself how perfect and Godly he was, how evil and disgusting Kale was, Kale struggled beneath him. The dirt and small rocks being flung from Orem, hit his face and arms without relief. Kale had to keep his head down as much as possible in order to keep the debris from his eyes, which made looking for handholds almost impossible.
"Ore?" Almost afraid to speak, because the air was thick with Orems animosity, Kale's voice trembled and was almost unable to penetrate his lips. He had always feared Orem, but nothing like he did now. Orem had always had a bad temper and there were as many holes in the walls at home as cracks in the rock here. But Kale couldn't shake the feeling that the actual climb was making him worse. How could being one with nature make someone angrier? Shouldn't he be using all his energy on the exhausting climb? How does he even have the strength to be this angry?
Clearing his throat, Kale tried again. "Ore?" It came out louder this time but still sounded shaky and filled with fear. Orem stopped and looked down at him. His eyes were blazing with wrath and seemed to be the darkest shade of gray. Kale would actually argue that they were actually a deep, inky black. Darker than any void known to man, yet they almost seemed to glow.
"What?" The single word was spit with such venom, Kale flinched as if struck. He shrunk a little as if trying to make himself smaller. Or invisible. The flinch made Orem smile, but he tried to pull it off as if his smile was meant to be kind and comforting. He changed his tone to a slightly condescending, mocking one, masked as concern. "What's wrong, Kay?"
