▌ 𝐀𝐈𝐋𝐄𝐄𝐍 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐑𝐘 slept in the same cupboard under the stairs. They had woken up to the sound of their aunt, Petunia, knocking on the small door. "Get up! Get up!" She said. "Now!"

Aileen let out a groan.

Harry reached over and turned the light on, and grabbed his glasses.

As Aileen was rubbing her eyes, she and Harry heard stomping down the stairs. By the sound of it, they both knew it was Dudley.

They heard him run back up the stairs and stomp harder, causing dust to fall on the twins. "Wake up, cousins! We're going to the zoo!" Dudley exclaimed.

Aileen let out another groan. "Can that kid just take a break from bothering us all the time." Aileen muttered.

Harry chuckled quietly at that, causing Aileen to laugh along with him.

As the two kids were about to walk out of the cupboard, Dudley came running and shoved them back into the cupboard.

"Ow." Aileen muttered.

They walked out and went into the kitchen to see their cousin, Dudley, Aunt Petunia, and Uncle Vernon.

"Oh, here he comes! The birthday boy!" Aunt Petunia exclaimed. "Happy Birthday, Son!" Uncle Vernon spoke.

When Harry and Aileen walked in, Aunt Petunia looked at them. "Just cook the breakfast and try not to burn anything." She demanded. "Yes, Aunt Petunia." Both Aileen and Harry said in unison.

They then headed towards the stove and started to work on some bacon. Aileen watched as Aunt Petunia led Dudley over to his birthday gifts.

"Bring my coffee, kids!" Vernon demanded. "Yes, Uncle Vernon." Both Aileen and Harry said in unison.

"How many are there?" The twins heard Dudley ask angrily as he looked at his pile of birthday presents. "Thiry-Six, counted them myself." Vernon replied. "Thirty-Six!? But last year I had Thirty-Seven!" Dudley shouted.

"He is so spoiled. We are lucky if we even get one present." Aileen whispered to Harry. "I know, right?" Harry whispered back.

Then, Petunia said how when they go out, they would get him two more presents.

━━━

When Petunia and Dudley got into the car, Vernon stopped Aileen and Harry.

"I'm warning you now, kids. Any funny business, any at all, and you won't have any meals for a week." Vernon threatened.

"Get in."

At that, Harry and Aileen stepped into the car and drove off to the zoo.

When they arrived, Dudley headed towards the snakes. Aunt Petunia, Uncle Vernon, Aileen, and Harry followed behind.

Dudley watched one of the snakes. He was getting annoyed that it wasn't moving. "Make him move." Dudley demanded. Uncle Vernon stepped forward and tapped on the glass. "Move!"

Dudley quickly knocked on the glass harder. "Move!"

"He's asleep!" Harry exclaimed.

"He's boring." Dudley said, then began walking away.

Petunia and Vernon walked away as well, leaving Aileen and Harry alone. "Sorry about him. He doesn't understand what it's like, lying there, day after day, watching people press their ugly faces in on you." Harry spoke.

Then, the snake seemed to have winked at the two.

Aileen had a shocked look on her face. So did Harry. "Wait, can you hear us?" Aileen asked. The snake nodded. "Okay, this is weird." Aileen muttered.

"It's just... we've never talked to a snake before. Have you... oh wait, do you talk to people often?" Harry questioned. The snake shook its head. Aileen was still shocked that a snake understood her and Harry, so she didn't pay attention to what Harry said next.

"Do you miss your family." Harry asked. Harry and Aileen looked over towards a sign that said, 'bred in captivity.'

"I see. That's us as well. We never knew our parents either." Aileen voiced.

Dudley then came rushing over. He shouted in excitement to see the snake had moved. When he made it over, he pushed Harry and Aileen to the ground.

Soon, Dudley fell through the glass. But the one thing is, it's like the glass just disappeared. He fell into the water.

Aileen and Harry both looked at each other and snickered.

Then, the snake came slithering out.

It stopped to look at the twins. "Thanks." It spoke. Did a snake just say words?

"Anytime." Harry said. "You're welcome." Aileen spoke. The snake then slithered away. Everybody in the zoo started screaming and panicking when they saw the snake loose.

Dudley stood up and went to get out. But when his hands touched the glass, he realized that he was stuck. "Mom! Mommy!" He screamed. Aunt Petunia screamed when she saw that Dudley was stuck behind the glass. She started panicking.

The twins just watched and laughed together, but Aileen was confused about how the glass disappeared and then reappeared.

Vernon turned to look at the two. He raised in eyebrow at them, causing the twins to stop laughing.
