(NARRATOR) The next day, Mahsuri is discussing her marriage news with her three friends cheerfully.
Melur : I can't believe Mahora wants to get married. I thought she wants to be an old virgin forever.
Mawar : You are right, Melur! She should just stay single forever!
(all giggle)
Melur : But, what makes you decide to marry, Mahsuri? Not to mention, with Wan Derus, the brother of Sultan Wan Yahya out of all people?
Mawar : Right, that's so unexpected. I thought you will marry the Sultan.
Seri : Yeah, Mahsuri. The queen position is more suitable for you.
Melur : I agree with Seri!
Mahsuri : You guys are so good with words! You know Sultan wants to marry me too, but, what can I do if he loves his brother more. (chuckles)
Seri : I mean, any man would fall in love at first sight especially when Mahsuri is looking like a literal angel.
Melur : She's not just pretty but intelligent as well, unlike that sister of hers.
Mawar : I second that!
Mahsuri : Aww, that's so sweet of all of you!
Mahora : Hi, sister!
Immediately, silence filled the atmosphere as soon as they notice the presence of Mahora and the two maids. There were no more voices. No more laughter, jeering, or giggles. Melur, Mawar and Seri look at the new presences with hatred. Their behaviour makes the maids feel even more annoyed towards Mahsuri, resulting into them talking back.
Mahsuri : Oh, Mahora, you are here. Is everything alright? (annoyed)
Mahora : Of course, what could have gone wrong?
Mahsuri : Haha, right. I feel so excited for my wedding!
Anum : Will you feel as excited when you find out you won't get to spend your days with him? He's a warrior, which means he goes out to war on the daily.
Wanti : You will be left lonely everytime he leaves. (mumbles incoherently) Might as well not marry, don't you think?
Mahora : Stop it, Anum, Wanti. You can't say that to my sister.
Melur : (raises a brow) What do you mean, maids?
Mawar : How dare you say such things to the daughter of the house you are serving?
Mahsuri : I'd be happy to marry a man who gives his life for the sake of our country. Besides, my future brother-in-law will be taking a great care of me when Derus is away, perhaps he wants to be my husband too after all. (giggles)
Mawar : Yeah, you should remember your place, Mahora. If it's not because of Mahsuri, you will not get married at all.
Mahora : Enough, please. I know my place and I apologize for my maids' mistakes as well.
Mahsuri : It's quite alright, however, I hope you do not do it again. Our parents will be terribly upset had they find out this is how the maids are treating their daughter. Train them properly, can you?
Mahora : How dare you try teaching my maids on how to behave? They have been serving me since I was small, don't try ordering them around!
Mahsuri : No, Mahora. I was just telling them to be cautious of their behaviour and what they say around us. You always twist my words, Mahora.
Realizing her actions, Mahora quickly steps closer to Mahsuri, trying to fix the argument.
Mahora : Wait, Mahsuri, that is not what I mean-
Melur : Mahsuri, are you okay? (puts a hand on Mahsuri's shoulder)
Mawar : What is the matter with you, seriously?
Seri : Hey, don't you dare touch her that way, I know you're a great fighter but that doesn't mean you can use it to bully others.
Mahsuri : (laughs softly) Let it pass, I am okay, guys.
Seri : Are you sure?
Mahsuri : Yes! You don't need to worry. She's not on my level after all.
(NARRATOR) Mahora and her servants watch in dismay as the four girls head home as the sun sets.
