"I understand that ma. I'm just saying, if we're having something, he doesn't haven't to come every time, considering he's my ex, my ex that moved on." I said while laying down in my bed, on the phone with my mom.
"He's not just your ex Jalani. He's my friends son also. It's not always about you."
"You have a lot of friends that's has kids but he's always the only one invited over?" I said mugging the phone because she missing the whole point.
"I never said that, I'm just saying Jalani maybe I want to see him myself and check on him."
"That's what phon- Ok ma I'll talk to you later when I'm on the way." I said hanging up. No disrespect to my mama whatsoever but I'm just tired of her thinking he got to come to everything we have, nobody wants to keep seeing him.
I got up and went in the kitchen to see what I was going to eat today, seeing Ky already eating.
"Bro let me tell you what just happened." I said grabbing a bowl, milk, and cereal.
"What?" Ky said looking up from her phone.
I gave her the whole story while fixing my food and eating it. If no one understood me, I know my little sister did.
"That's fucked up, I try to tell ma all the time that he doesn't have to be there but she always pulls that, 'my friend son' bull shit, mind you, her and Tracey doesn't even talk like that anymore." Ky said while washing her bowl.
"Exactly bro! My whole point. You don't see me going to his peoples house cause he's my mama friend son, that shit doesn't even makes sense." I said.
"Nah forreal, she don't see nothing wrong with it tho, I can't wait to go over there today." Ky mumbled.
I laughed and walked into my room and got dressed. I'm going to my parents house so therefore, I'm not dressing up.
I put on a white crop top shirt, some blue adidas pants, and my midnight navy jordan 3s. I sprayed some perfume and headed out, waiting on Ky.
Ky finished getting ready so I grabbed my purse and my car keys and we left.
Parent's house.
I pulled into my parent's driveway, seeing 2 other cars. I know one was my brother car but I don't know who the other car belonged to.
Me and Ky got out the car and started walking in, hearing laughter coming from the living room.
I took my shoes off and walked into the living room and Ky went upstairs to change clothes.
"Yes she been doing good, she be acting like she don't wanna see you when we all know she does." I heard my mama say. Girl what the fuck?
"Umm?" I said turning the corner seeing Aydrian, Caliel, and my dad.
"Wassup princess." My dad said.
"Hey, hey Caliel" I smiled at them.
Caliel spoke back to me with a look of worry on his face, he know exactly what's going on right now.
"Mom, Aydrian." I nodded towards them.
"Jalani stop playing with me little girl." My mom said mugging me.
I just sat beside Caliel as Ky came back downstairs. I was not in the mood for this shit right now, I promise you I wasn't.
"Wassup Jala. How you been?" Aydrian asked as if the bi- he cared.
"I been good, yourself?" I asked making eye contact with him.
"I been straight." He said licking his lips, crusty ass lips.
"Mmm." I said getting on my phone, I still don't want to be here. At all. Should've took my ass to work.
"So Aydrian been telling me he's thinking about going to school for entrepreneurship." My mom said smiling at us.
"That's good. Hope you succeed." I said smiling and getting up.
Sometimes I felt like she wanted me to be like him, she always tried to throw what he did in my face, no disrespect but I don't give a damn.
"The fuck, telling me that shit like I'm supposed to jump up and down and sing." I mumbled walking upstairs to my old room.
I laid on my bed and watched South Central Baddies on my phone until I heard a knock.
"Come in." I said not caring who it was honestly.
Aydrian walked in and shut the door and sat beside me on my bed.
"You ain't look too happy to see me." He said chuckling a little.
"To be honest? I wasn't. I don't know why my mom feels as if y-" I said talking fast but soon getting cut off by Aydrian.
"Woah, you wasn't happy to see me? Deadass?" He said looking dead at me.
I sat up on my bed and looked back at him, giving eye contact.
"Nah, I wasn't. I can't get over you if I'm going to keep seeing you all the time." I said shrugging.
He nodded and broke eye contact, looking straight forward.
"Jalani you tripping bruh. You know how we rock man, you see how fast you let shit go without even trying?" Aydrian said standing up pacing around my room.
"I'm not going to lie to you, yeah I let shit go fast, I'm not finna hold on to something that's easily going to slip the fuck away. You moved on, right?So you goddamn right I'm trying to let this shit go because what the fuck I'm supposed to do? Wait on you? Crazy as hell." I said mugging him.
"Nobody said you had to wait Jalani! I waited on you, you just don't try to show the same feelings back bruh!" He said getting mad, veins popping out his forehead and all.
"Man gone head bruh, you just chatting dude. I've did everything for you, I was willing to wait and be with you but you kept insisting that we break up 'cause it's not going to work, remember you said that?" I asked him while standing with my arms crossed.
I was so over this shit, like please just get the fuck out at this point. Just fucking talking.
"I swear you don't under-" He was soon cut off by a knock at my door.
"Everything ok?" I heard on the other side of the door, knowing it was my mama.
"Yeah ma we straight." I said looking dead at him.
"Okay, dinner's ready. Y'all come eat." She said faintly.
I just nodded, as if she could see me and walked out the room with Aydrian trailing behind me like a sad puppy.
