Truth??

SALAR!!

The noise of the wedding faded into the background as I sat beside Raha and Zain, forcing myself to smile at their jokes.

Everyone thought I was enjoying the moment.

But the truth?

My eyes kept searching for her.

Ehmel.

Every time I caught a glimpse of her in the crowd, laughing softly, adjusting her dupatta, my chest tightened. I had faced business deals, family pressure, responsibilities—but nothing had ever made me this nervous.

Because tonight... I was going to tell her everything.

I had rehearsed it a hundred times in my head.

"Ehmel, I love you."
Simple. Honest.

But why did it feel so impossible?

When she walked into the hall, my breath hitched for a second. She looked... unreal. And for a moment, I forgot everything else.

Until Ammi called her to the stage.

I watched her hesitate. That small pause didn't go unnoticed by me.

Before she could refuse, I spoke, "You're part of the family now."

The words slipped out naturally—but they carried more meaning than anyone there understood.

Because in my heart... she already was.

When Ammi made her stand next to me, I felt something shift inside me. She stood close, unsure, overwhelmed... and all I wanted to do was hold her hand and tell her she belonged right here.

With me.

After the picture, I leaned closer to her, lowering my voice.

"Come meet me in the garden. I want to tell you something."

Her reaction didn't go unnoticed—the way she froze slightly, the way her eyes lit up. It gave me hope.

Maybe... just maybe... she felt the same.

*****

The garden felt colder than before.

Or maybe it was just me.

I stepped in, taking a deep breath, trying to calm the storm inside my chest—but it only made it worse.

"Alright... this is it," I muttered, pacing slowly. "No running now, Salar."

I let out a nervous laugh.

"Funny... I've faced everything in life without fear, and today I'm standing here like an idiot... scared of one girl."

I shook my head.

"Not just a girl," I corrected myself softly. "Ehmel."

I checked my phone again.

No message.

No sign of her.

"Ehmel..." I whispered, glancing toward the entrance. "You're seriously testing my patience today."

I rubbed my hands together, trying to steady them.

"If you don't show up in the next two minutes, I swear I'm coming to drag you here myself," I muttered, half smiling.

Just then...

Footsteps echoed behind me.

I straightened immediately, heartbeat jumping.
