Chapter 7 „I am sorry"

Winter and Kinkajou met with others in the cafeteria of the Jade Mountain Academy. Everyone had plans and information about every kingdom in Phyria. Now Winter only needs the information from the Lost Continent. But for Winter, it was important to gather this information and bring it to the Ice Kingdom. Winter thanked his friends for their help and greeted them as he was about to leave. Qibli was so sad to see his best friend leave. Before Winter flew away, Qibli buried him with his claws. Winter turned around and Qibli hugged him.
"I hope we see each other again soon!"
Winter blushed. His face was a dark blue. He felt a warm sensation in his chest. Winter nodded and flew away.

Back in the Ice Kingdom, Hail was ready to rebel and take the throne. He, Icy, and hundreds of IceWings went to the palace, where Snowfall was waiting. She knew this would happen, but she was not unprepared. She had her best generals and warriors ready to protect the Ice Kingdom. Just then, darkness came out of nowhere. No sunlight, no sign of life outside. From the dark sky, six red dragon eyes appeared, staring directly at Snowfall and her kingdom.
As soon as this happened, Hail entered the palace and attacked all the shocked and distracted IceWings protecting the throne. Snowfall watched the catastrophe unfold. Blood was everywhere, and the screams of her soldiers grew louder. Snowfall noticed Hail smiling in the corner, holding her best and most royal commander in the Ice Kingdom. He took his knife and slit his throat. He died a long and painful death. Snowfall had had enough and went after him. He didn't move. He was ready to fight. Snowfall blew the strong ice from her mouth. Hail dodged the blow and attacked next. They both used claws and tails. Snowfall was strong, but Hail was faster and knew the queen better than she knew him. He took the opportunity when she wasn't watching, slicing her belly with his knife and grabbing her wing with his other claw. She fell and so did the others. Hail won.
„Not so strong and powerful now, aren't you?"
Hail smirked.

"You are a traitor. You have betrayed your own tribe, your own kingdom, your own queen, and..."
"NO! You betrayed me first! I was just a helpless little dragon, and no one ever tried to help me. Not even my own parents. I was always played by you and your little rules."
Hail grabbed her face and whispered:
"Now is my chance to get my revenge and the power I deserve."
Icy grabbed Hail's claws as he was about to kill Queen Snowfall. Hail turned back at him in anger. Icy looked into his eyes without fear.
"You won't kill anyone else today. We'll put her and others in prison."
At that moment, Winter entered. Winter was threatened by what the place looked like. A massacre had happened here, and Winter was angry about it.
"This should not have happened. You have killed our brothers and sisters! What is your excuse?!"
"I don't need to make excuses. Besides, they were all royal to Queen Snowfall, and they would not follow her rules."
Winter jumped at Hail. Winter didn't want to hurt or kill anyone from the Ice Kingdom. Icy came and saved the situation.
"Stop you two angry dragons! There will be no more deaths. This is over."
"You traitor," Hail to Winter said, "you lover of SandWing and Nightwing! You don't even know who you are or who you like!"
"At least I am not a bloody thirsty dragon with parents and no parents.
"Stop it, you two! If you want to get what you want, you have to work together. Now, Winter, do you have what we need?"
"Yes." Winter replied, still trying to calm down after this fight.
"Ok, our next destination is the Lost Continent. We will need a spy. But first we will wait for Emperor Omega's plan and see what we have to do next!"
Hail said while looking at Icy.
Hail and Icy went to the other side of the palace while Winter took the queen to prison. Snowfall looked at Winter with a sad and disappointed face. Winter turned his head back to her. She saw how angry he was, but also how broken he was. He put her in jail and before he went out, he said quietly:
„I am sorry."
Winter was sad and felt guilty about what was happening. He looked into his queen's eyes as he betrayed her. He looked at his friends as he took the most important information from their homes.
He looked at Qibli... He didn't know what to say when Qibli believed him blindly or hugged him before leaving him. Hail is right, he is a traitor, no one else.
He said to himself aloud:
"I am sorry."
