Nevertheless- a Sasunaru/Narusasu fanfic

Chapter 2- Naruto

     I woke up because I couldn't sleep, I was way too excited for tomorrow! I couldn't believe I was now a ninja. I was going to the be the best hokage in town, believe it! 

     'For him, I have nothing but respect,'  I remembered Iruka-sensei saying. 'He is.. a CITIZEN OF KONOHA-GAKURE VILLAGE.. UZUMAKI NARUTO!'

     "I won't disappoint you, Iruka-sensei!" I exclaimed happily while pulling on my orange jumpsuit. "But... I've gotta eat first! A ninja has to have a full stomach too!" 

     I had saved up for a super-deluxe miso cup that was for special occasions only. 

     "All for ME!" I cheerfully cried, devouring the soft, chewy noodles that were an essential part of my diet. That was just how good it was. Well, that and...that fact that I really couldn't afford anything else... 

     I don't have a pa or ma, or any relatives for that matter... It sometimes made me sad, having never enjoyed a fresh, home-cooked meal. I felt sad every time I sat alone at the park after everyone went home. I never really understood why people always ignored me and bullied me, but sometimes, only a few times, I cried alone in my room.. But of course I would never, ever admit it to anyone.

     Sure, there were tell-tale signs I wasn't okay, like how my tissue box was always empty, how there were piles of cups, toweringly stacked up because I binge-ate when I was sad.

     But no one would know. Because no one, not a single person, would ever come into my room. As much as I pretended I was an idiotic troublemaker, I truly felt like I was alone. Okay, sure, I was still an idiot, but people always seemed to forget that even I had feelings.

     Last night, Iruka-sensei really showed that he cared. I had never even realised how important I truly was to him. But one thing was still in my mind..

    "You don't know it , do you?" Mizuki remarked with a smirk. "You contain the nine-tailed fox."

     What was the nine-tailed fox? Was Mizuki just pretending that he knew something, or did it truly happen? 

     "Naruto, let's go!" I cried in excitement as I raced out the door. "The future hokage, Uzumaki Naruto, is here , front and CENTER!"
