The survivors are thrilled to see an abandoned car headed towards a bridge. Only, the car's surrounded by zombies. The survivors weren't surprised at this point. After all, the infected were everywhere. All the survivors had to do was take care of the infected and they'd be able to get to the car. Ayden was hoping that the car worked so the group could get a break from walking. The downside was that it was going to take awhile for the survivors to get through the infected.

The survivors started killing off the infected so they could get to the car. It was hard to get through them all since the gunshots kept attracting more infected. It was worth it, though. After all, the survivors were tired of walking. Charli was using her bat instead of her silenced machine gun. Charli could barely hear his thoughts over the sound of cracking skulls. On top of that, the sound of Vere's axe coming into contact with necks and Becker's knife hitting skulls filled Charli's ears.

The survivors made sure they remembered to use their bile jars and pipe bombs. They were saving the molotovs to use on the tanks. There was a part of them that didn't want to, but there was only so much they could do. Especially when there was a tank around. The survivors made sure to shove the infected back if they ever got too close. Jaren threw a bile jar up the street, the back splash hitting the infected that were the closest to the bile jar.

The survivors watched as the infected started attacking the ones that got hit by the bile. The number of infected dropped significantly once the survivors took out the infected that didn't get hit by the bile. The survivors were hoping the infected would ignore them while they checked out the car. The survivors started by checking out the interior of the car. The seats were still intact and looked new. The steering wheel looked as if it started collecting dust. The keys were left in the ignition. Vere opened the glove box. A single piece of paper fell out of the glove box. Vere picked it up to look at it. The paper wasn't of any interest as it was only a grocery list. Looking closer at the list, the only three things crossed out were milk, bread, and eggs.

There were two other rows of seats, which was a good thing. On one of the seats in the second row, Kandace and Charli found the bags the eggs, milk, and bread were in. In the last row, there were a few empty boxes and empty wrappers. Kandace, Charli, Ayden, and Vere agreed that they should take the car. After all, whoever left it behind also left the keys behind. Granted, they still needed to make sure the car still worked. The four stepped out of the car to check out the rest of it.

Kandace and Charli made their way to the trunk. Vere and Ayden made their way to the front where Jaren and Becker were. The trunk was big enough for the survivors to put their bags in it. They'd have to move the golf clubs for them to fight right, though. There was a tool box next to the golf clubs. Charli grabbed the tool box and opened it. The tool box had various tools to fix a car. Kandace and Charli looked at each other. The two thought the tools were a good idea to keep in a car. After all, you never know when you are going to need them.

At the front of the car, Becker found an issue with the car. The issue was with the ignition coil. Kandace took the tool box over to where the other four were. Holding up the tool box, Kandace said, "Here, this should have what we need to fix it." Kandace explicitly said 'we' instead of 'you' to not make it sound like she was expecting one of the others to fix the car. Kandace made it clear that she wanted to help fix the car.

"Where'd you find that," Ayden asked.

"It was in the trunk," Charli answered.

"Right. Well, since you have it, could you see if it has a new ignition coil? I don't think the one in here can be repaired," Jaren asked.

Kandace opened the tool box and looked around for a moment. Kandace pulled out the ignition coil and any other tool Jaren asked for. "Now, are we sure it's just the ignition coil that's wrong with the car," Kandace asked.

"It's possible that there are a few other issues with the car. Right now we've only confirmed that the ignition coil wasn't working properly. We'll have to see if there's anything else wrong with it," Becker answered.

Kandace and Charli weren't too happy with Becker's response. The two hoped that there wasn't anything else wrong with the car. After all, it was hard to get anywhere when you're only walking. Charli chimed in with, "And what if there was something else wrong with the car? What do you do then?"

"Well, if it's something that will take a while to fix, we may need to leave it behind. I know it's not something any of us want to do but we may end up not having a choice." Ayden gave Charli a side hug. Ayden of all people understood what it was like not wanting to walk for an extended period of time.

Jaren was taking their time fixing the car. The group couldn't afford to mess anything up. The others made sure the infected stayed away from Jaren while they worked. There may have been fewer infected around then when they had arrived, but even what was left was a threat to them. Especially considering that the common infected could give the special infected an idea of where the survivors were. The survivors didn't want to risk that, but what choice did they have? It wasn't like any of them had any control over them. Or, at least not that they knew of.

Jaren finished working on the car and told the others they could get going. Before the group did anything, Becker walked up the road a bit to see if the road was blocked. The road was for the most part clear of any and all obstructions. Becker confirmed that the road was clear enough for them to leave. The group was lucky they didn't have to do anything about the bridge. Granted, they still weren't 100% sure where they were at. The group wasn't even sure if they knew where they were going. That didn't matter, though, so long as they'd get out alive.

The survivors got into the car, not caring where they sat. After all, it didn't matter so long as they were in the car. Once in the car, Vere started the car. The car started with ease. There were no signs that there was anything else wrong with the car, which was a good thing. Ayden asked Becker if he could take another look at its parents' research journals. Backer handed them over, knowing that Ayden would be careful with them.

Just before Vere started driving, xe expressed that xe wasn't convinced that there wasn't anything wrong with the car. Becker told Vere to quit complaining and to just drive. Becker kept their voice stern, not wanting to have to repeat themself. Vere huffed and started driving, not knowing where to go. Kandace, who was in the front passenger seat, told Vere to not worry about where they were going and to focus on finding an evac center. It didn't matter if there was anyone at the evac center or not. So long as the room was safe, the survivors would be fine. The group knew it could take a few hours or so before they found another evac center, but they were used to it.

The survivors were finding it difficult to fill the awkward silence. What was there to talk about? It wasn't like they could talk about the mutated infected. There wasn't more to say about the infected. Yes, they could talk about the appearance of the mutated infected. However, that information wasn't going to do them any good in terms of killing them. It would give the survivors an idea of what to look for, though. And that's (mostly) what was important to them.
