"Hey, has anyone seen Celeste?" Dom asked yet another group of people, hearing a familiar chorus of No come from them. Dominic sighed once more as he checked his phone to see if Celeste had responded to the dozens of text the boy had sent asking her where she was, and yet no response from the girl.

Dominic was just about to give up, deciding to go get some fresh air by leaving through the side screen door. His high was turning into a bad trip, due to all his nerves getting caught up in his throat. Everything should've feel exciting and airy, but instead he felt fuzzy and suffocated.

Right when he stepped out, he heard Celeste's contagious laugh, forcing his head to shoot in the direction of her voice. He darted straight in her direction, taking a look at every single passerby in hopes of finding the girl. Finally, he came across her hidden in a circle of people that were sitting on the grass.

"Cel, we're leaving, cmon." Dominic kneeled down next to her, fitting himself behind Julio and the girl.

"I'm not ready to go." Celeste mumbled, turning back around to the circle of new friends she had accumulated, taking a swig of her beer.

"Celeste, cmon." Dominic could sense her hesitancy towards him, and it was killing him.

"Dude, No. I can get myself home." Celeste whined, her drunken state taking over her as she softly pushed him away.

"Who's this?" Julio finally turned around to acknowledge the voice in between them.

"Her boyfrie-"

"He's just a homie." Celeste shouted over Dom, as Julio nodded. He could tell it was complicated but didn't want to push it further.

"Cool. I'm Julio." Julio put out a fist to Dom, causing the boy to hesitantly collide his own fist with Julio's.

"Dominic." Was all Dom said as he stood up, sighing heavily. He stared down at Celeste, wondering what to do.

"You really gonna do this, Cel?" He asked her abruptly.

"Just like you really did some coke off of a random ass girls stomach, yeah Imma really do this." Celeste sighed, feeling overwhelmed. Julio was hearing the whole interaction and it was slightly embarrassing Celeste. Dominic didn't say anything in return, her attitude towards him confirmed his worst worry; She saw him doing shit he wasn't suppose to be doing.

"Whatever, let's go then." Celeste ran a hand through her long hair.

"I'll see you around Julio." Celeste said her goodbyes to her brothers (ex) best friend and the rest of the friend group, shaking up and fist bumping around the huddled group.

"Tell Eddie I say what's up." Julio and Celeste exchanged goodbyes before brushing past Dominic and heading towards the exit of the party. Brushing past him, she ignored him, choosing to talk to a slightly drunk Stephanie.

"Oh, shes mad mad." Max sighed from his spot next to Dom, putting his hands in his baggy jeans.

"I know. I'm fucked."

The quartet made their way to Maxs car, all getting in to their designated seats. Celeste leaned against the car window from her spot in the backseat, her vision spinning but she didn't mind it one bit. She closed her eyes, just wishing for the night to be over. The car roared to life, and as soon as Max connected the aux, music began to blast. With Celeste's eyes closed, Dominic's stare lingered on her slumped figure. His mind was racing, he didn't know how to approach her about the situation.

As the car roared to life, Max began to drive first to Celeste's since she was nearest. Usually Dominic would get off with her, hanging out with her more into the late night but he hesitated this time. As the car arrived in front of Celeste's home, she mumbled a goodnight and stumbled out the car and towards her house. Max could sense how badly Dominic wanted to go after the girl, just to at least clear the air between them. The trio watched the girl walk up her steps and into her house, a fallen silence between them all.

"Dom, just go knock." Stephanie's voice croaked, her drunken state beginning to wear off.

Dominic locked eyes with Max from the rearview mirror, nodding in agreement with Stephanie.

"Talk with her, Jit." Max encouraged his best friend, and it was all Dominic needed to hear to go after Celeste.
