This is tough
But so am I.ᏃHᎪᏒIᎪᏁ SᎾᏞᎪᏟᎬ -
His head whips back to me.
" You- You did? "
I nod, smiling.
" Alastor- " I take in a shaky breath, "Cheated on me, I was sad, then he- "
" Forced himself on you. " He finishes for me.
I nod.
" Thank you. "
He raises a brow at me.
" For coming and saving me. "
He simply nods.
I take my sword and slice my hand, holding it out to him." Payment? "
He stares at the blood before taking a step, grabbing my wrist and drinking from my wound.
He stares up at me as he does, eyes bright red.
" I- Lashed out, today too. " I say.
He pulls back, blood coating his lips.
I stare at them as he talks, " Lashed out? Like werewolf lashed out? "
I nod, he stares.
" I got so mad. " I whisper. " He's going to tell everyone, isn't he? Alastors going to tell everyone. They're going to hate me. " I pull my hand back to cover my face.
" I won't let him, " Osiris says, grabbing my wrist.
I stare at him through my moist lashes, his eyes soften for a second before he looks away.
" How are you going to do that? " I ask, wiping my eyes.
" I don't know, but I won't let him. I promise, Princess. If he does, he'll suffer. " He turns his head again and our eyes lock.
My wolf wants to lick his face and I internally glare at her.
" Thanks, Osiris. " I whisper.
He nods. " I better get back. "
He turns and I catch him by his wrist, he looks over at me with a raised eyebrow.
" Can- Can you make sure Althaea doesn't say anything either? " I ask.
He smiles softly before nodding.
I stand on the side steps of the palace, fingers locked in front of me.
My eyes scan the barnyard, I catch a stable hand bathing Sela. She catches my eyes and throws her ears back, her whinny heard from here.
I smile, my eyes scanning further.
They catch onto Althaea, and she avoids my gaze.
My wolf growls, and I feel my pupils dialate.
I'm not sure if Osiris has said anything yet, or if he even will.
It's been days since Osiris has been here last. Days since I saw Alastor. And days since I unleashed my secret to the most untrustworthy people I've ever known.
A horse neighing from the forests catches my attention.
It's the same horse from the day Sela went missing.
It rears in the tree line, before stomping its way into the village, not caring as it almost crushes people under it.
I make my way over to it and Sela bucks, huffing as I pass her.
The knights on Horses round their lassos, throwing them onto the horses neck.
It rears and bucks, shaking it's head harshly. Sela goes crazy behind me.
The horse looks terrified as it tries to battle its way out of the ropes, I hold my hand out to the guards.
They drop the ropes and the horse calms, standing and staring at me.
I shush it, holding my hand out to it. It huffs, flapping it's lips at me.
My eyes scan its body, and that's when I realize it has a gash on its back leg.
It raises it slightly off the ground, standing on its other three legs.
I bend down and grab the rope it's tied to and tug it.
It bucks but follows, still hesitant.
I bring it to the stall next to Sela, that sniff each other before Sela pulls back, her ears laying against her head.
I tie the horse to the posts, and order stable hands to clean it's wound.
It tenses as they clean it, but allows them to do so anyway.
Once it's done and they bandage it, I untie it, and immediately it sprints back into the woods. Sela neighs after it.
Authors note:
Pretty boring chapter but I didn't want to put the next attack in this one sooo
