Mark has never imagined himself where he is now.
Standing outside of his school, he waited patiently for his boyfriend to arrive. Today they were doing something special.
He nearly jumped out of his shoes when he was suddenly tapped on the shoulder by a taller male.
"Hah, did I scare you baby?", Haechan asked.
"You did, I almost jumped from my shoes. Now if I have a heart attack it's your fault."
Haechan laughed off his cute boyfriends words.
"Are you ready?", he asked.
"Yeah. I got the picnic basket."
"Good! I got some drinks in my backpack. No alcohol though because my mom doesn't want me drinking on school grounds."
"Same."
The two held hands, walking along the outer sidewalk towards the soccer field.
It wasn't during class hours, so not many people were walking around.
This was good for Mark and Haechan of course, as they didn't want to risk any spies going back and telling their dads they were together.
"This sunset looks so nice. I bet the view is better from the field.", Haechan told Mark.
"Well the best view here is you."
"Nice one.", Haechan replied laughing.
After a few minutes, they reached the field.
The gate was unlocked, and the two walked into the open field.
As they neared the center, the sunset shined through the far end of the field.
Mark sat the basket down.
"Let's sit here baby."
The two sat down on the field, opening the basket.
Haechan watched Mark unpack the food with a smile. He felt so happy with him, and never wanted that feeling to end.
"Mark."
"Yes?"
"Do you ever get...scared?"
Mark stopped unpacking the basket.
"Scared? Of what? Is something bothering you?"
Haechan sighed, looking down.
"I know you don't like to talk about it...but our dads-"
"Haechan. We shouldn't worry about them."
"But I can't help it! They don't like the idea of us together. And it makes me wonder."
"About what?"
Haechan took a deep breath, finally looking up at Mark.
"If something happens, and we're forced to be apart..."
Mark put his hand on Haechan's.
"Do you think we would meet again in the next life?"
Mark smiled.
"Of course we would. Haechan, we are meant to be together. So no matter what happens in this life..."
Mark leaned in and kissed Haechan for a few seconds before pulling away.
