Chapter 8 - Blood is thicker than water

Matt watched helpless from the side of the ship as the captain paddled frantically in the in the strong sea's waves as they dragged him beneath the surface. He looked over at Dougie who lay in Danny's arms.

Matt: "Fuck" *To Danny* *Shout* "Is he breathing?"

Danny hovered his hand over Dougie's both to check if he could feel any air escaping from his mouth, but nothing. A tear fell softy on Danny's cheek he looked at Matt his face said it all, looking at Danny's reaction Matt clasped to the floor of the ship in tear's. Harry was knelt down beside his best friends lifeless body, he took hold of Doug's fragile hand holding it close to his heart. 

Harry: *Whisper* "I'm gonna save you Doug"

Danny looked up at Harry confused by what he said. He saw Harry get to his feet.

Danny: *Through tears* "What you doing?"

Harry ignored his question and looked out to the open ocean before running full speed towards it he dived over the side of the ship splashing into the cold sea, as he plummeted beneath the surface of the ocean, out of sight of Matt who had quickly picked himself of the floor after he saw Harry running toward him.

Matt: *Shout* "What the fuck is he doing! He can't just give up now!"

Beneath the water Harry swam deeper and deeper until he found the captain who was floating in the water, Harry noticed how peaceful he seam when he wasn't being a utter bastard. Harry placed his strong arms tightly around the captains waist. He pulled his heavy body up to the surface of the ocean as soon as the captain's face his the open air he took a deep breath of ocean he began to cough up the water that had invaded his lungs whilst he was beneath the ocean. 

At the same time as the captain appeared from underneath the dark sea Dougie opened his eyes and looked up at a sobbing Danny. Matt had witnessed everything and he knew what this meant now.

Matt: "Oh my god..." 

Dougie: *To Danny* "What's wrong?"

Danny held Dougie in his arms tighter than he had ever done before in the 12 years he's known him Dougie looked quite uncomfortable in this unexpected show of affection. He was completely confused last thing he remembered was telling Harry he remembered him, now he was being groped buy an over emotional Danny.

Danny: *To Dougie* "Your alive"

Dougie: *To Danny* "Of course I'm alive you dummy" 

By now Matt had thrown some rope into the sea for Harry to tie around himself and the captain. Matt tied the rope to the ship whilst he went to get the help of Danny and Dougie to pull Harry and the captain back onto the ship. 

Matt: "Guy's I need your help"

He lead them over to the side of the ship and they pulled Harry and the captain back onto the ship even Joe helped. Once they were safely back on the ship they realized that there was quite a lot of explaining needed to be done.

James and Tom had reached the basement floor by now it took them a while as they took the stairs, James was still holding Holly in his arms who was trying to stay calm through the pain. As they reached the door leading into the basement they opened it quickly forgetting Holly didn't know about the light.

Holly: *Shout* "What the fuck is that!"

James and Tom looked at each other what were they going to tell her, they couldn't just leave her here alone not in this situation. James held her tightly in his arms.
