            – ♠ HUSK'S POINT OF VIEW ♠ –

The casino was very busy, which was to be expected on a Friday night. A glowing red and yellow sign hung above the bar, reading Golden Chain Casino And Hotel. I walked over to the machines, and grumbled as I found a group I recognized. The Vees. I knew they were trouble. They always were. I decided to try my best to avoid them, to let them plot their stupid ass schemes without getting kicked out for the fourth time this month, but I noticed something else that caught my eye. Someone else, I should say. A man stood behind Valentino with an annoyed expression on his face as he listened to The Vees discuss... whatever they were talking about. I raised an eyebrow when I saw him. He was... new. And with The Vees. And he looked...

He was some sort of humanoid spider, however he currently only had six arms, standing about eight feet tall. He was covered in rose-tinted white fur, and he had light pink spots throughout his body. One of his eyes were pure black with only a shimmering hot pink iris. The other was similar, but with a dandelion yellow sclera. He had eyeliner and rose eyeshadow surrounding his eyes, and he wore a white suit with many pink stripes and a black bow tie with a hot pink center and a black choker. Long, pink gloves went up to his elbows on all of his arms. He wore black shorts and thigh-high heel boots, which were definitely the reason he stood eight feet tall. I stared at him for a moment, taking in his appearance. I watched as the Vees continued speaking, probably plotting some shitty scheme to take over the casino, until Vox glanced at me. He alerted his stupid coworker and boy-toy, Valentino, and all of The Vees stared directly at me. Shit.

I averted my wide eyes, turning and walking to the bar. I sat at a small round table where I could still see Valentino clearly. The other Vees had walked off, but I didn't know where. The moth Overlord sighed, looking off into the distance. Abruptly, he turned, and yanked his hands and he blew a puff of pink smoke. A chain appeared, wrapping around the spider demon's neck. The annoyed expression on his face suddenly changed to a look of worry. He tried to grab at the chain, but it did nothing. It was hard to tell from so far away, but I could tell Val was threatening him. Saying something that made him uncomfortable. I began to stand, to go confront that stupid bitch, when I felt a hand on my shoulder. My eyes narrowed as I saw that glitchy bitch, smirking at me.

"What the Hell do you want, Vox?" I looked away from him, trying to find Valentino and that spider guy, but they had vanished without a trace. Vox's grip on my shoulder tightened, which startled me. I turned at him, pushing his hand away. His eye twitched slightly and his smile seemed even more forced, but it didn't fade even slightly. I glanced back out at the areas with the slot machines, searching for that new demon, but I couldn't find him. I stood, crossing my arms as I looked up to face Vox. "Who is he, and what is he doin' with you and the other Vees?"

Vox's smirk turned to a grin. He walked over to the bar table, requesting two shots. I glared suspiciously at him. I didn't know what he was doing, but I didn't like it. I walked over, sitting on the barstool next to him.

"It's funny you ask, Husk, really. I—Oh, thank you, sir." He grabbed the shots from the bartender, handing one to me. I raised an eyebrow, and hesitantly took it. He downed his own, which was strange to watch, considering his head was a television. "That—"—he pointed to the poker table, where the spider stood next to Val, watching as he gambled—"is Angel Dust. Famous pornstar, great filmmaker, decent singer, incredible entertainer."

I finally noticed him standing there. I could understand why he was a pornstar. He certainly had the body of one. He had a happy expression on his face, but he kept glancing nervously at Valentino, as if he expected something. Something bad. I didn't understand why he was here, especially now. He had never been here before. It was strange... Vox smirked, leaning on the bar table. He stared at me and sat straight. "We'd like to make a deal, Husker."

I growled at him softly because of my cat reactions. I hated them. Vox tried to hold in his laughter at my reaction. I was about to kick him out of the casino. Forever. "Of course you would, Glitchy. I'm not fuckin' interested in any of your stupid gambles, Vox."

I began to stand to leave, but Vox grabbed my suit vest and pulled me back. He clicked his tounge, which just sounded like static. "Just listen, Husk. It's a good deal, really... I pr-pro-promise..."

His voice glitched at the last word. Not very reassuring, I thought. I had to admit, I was curious... I would never agree, obviously, but... I sighed, reaching for a bottle of vodka from the shelf behind the bar table. "What's your offer?"

Vox grinned. He pointed to Angel Dust, taking the bottle of vodka from my hands and drinking some himself. "A simple game of poker against Valentino. You win, you get that little moneymaker o' his. You lose... Val takes over the casino, and you get kicked out. We got a deal, ol' drunk?"

"Wait, wait, wait..." I stood, brushing myself off, and grabbed the bottle back. "He's bettin' his worker? He's bettin' a person? Listen, Vox, even if I was remotely interested, why would I want him? What'll he do?"

Vox smirked. "Oh, Husk, you have no idea... You know how much Sinners would pay to see him at your little casino? You'll be rich in no time at all! Also, your short on staff, aren't you? An extra worker to help you 'round the casino! It's a great deal, I tell you!"

I was still skeptical. It did sound pretty good when Vox explained it, but that was his plan. He would have some kind of way to win, he must have. "If he's so damn great," I asked, "why are you givin' 'im to me? It don't sound right."

Vox's head twitched and he grabbed my shoulder. His expression turned from calm and smug to annoyed and irritated. "Listen, Whiskers," Vox said with a hint of aggression in his voice. He looked like he was about to start yelling, but Valentino was watching him. He sighed, and his grin returned. "Just for fun, of course! Just a little game, okay, Husk? We got a deal?"

Vox's shift in mood startled me, making me flinch and almost fall from the barstool. There was no way this was "just a little game". Then again... I hated to say it, but Vox was right. I did need more workers, and Angel Dust probably would bring in a lot of customers. But if I lost... I would loose my casino. I would be left with nothing. But what were the chances? I was amazing at poker! There was no way in Hell that Val would beat me! No way!

...Right?

Vox extended his hand, smiling. I sighed, staring at his hand, and then turned to Angel Dust. He looked miserable with Valentino. Maybe... Maybe he would be happier if he stayed with me? If I won him in that bet? I shut my eyes, taking Vox's hand and gripping it tightly. Did I really just agree to bet my whole casino? What the fuck was I thinking? I grumbled, taking my hand away.

"Fuck you."

"Ha! Wonderful! Now, come, Husk. Time for a game."
