– ♥ ANGEL DUST'S POINT OF VIEW ♥ –I couldn't stop thinking about him. Ever since the deal, I haven't been able to stop. It's been almost two months now, and still, Valentino has been one of the only things on my mind. Valentino and Husker. He never stopped texting me, and Vox was now a regular at the casino, delivering gifts from him. Jewelry, deserts, flowers... I hated it. I hated him. He made me feel like I was nothing without him. His words were starting to affect me. I felt like I was powerless. I felt like I didn't deserve everything Husk had given me. I felt like I didn't deserve anything without Val.
I groaned, sitting up straight at the obnoxious alarm coming from the alarm clock next to me. I slammed the off button on it, running a hand through my hair. Niffty lay asleep next to me, hugging my waist as she snored. I slipped away from her, and trudged towards my closet. My work uniform was wrinkled, but I didn't mind. It would work. I quickly put on a bit of makeup, and hurried out of the door and downstairs. It was already eleven in the morning. I couldn't be late again.
As I got to the end of the stairs, Spade, one of Husk's assistants, stopped me, jumping towards me from the ceiling and signing my name. I almost fell over, dripping on my heel boots, but Spade managed to catch me with their stretchy arms. The tugged on their apron, bowing to me. "Hey, Spade."
Mister Angel Dust, they signed, a large smile on their face. Husk would like to speak with you.
"Shit..." I groaned, running a hand through my hair. I put a hand on my hip, looking down at Spade. "Is everythin'... okay? Did I do somethin'?"
No! Spade waved their hands after signing, and they still smiled, as if they knew something. No, no, not at all! Quite the opposite. I would let Husk explain it. And... Have you seen Niffty? I need to speak with her immediately.
"Oh. Uh, yeah, she's in our room. I think she's still asleep, though." Spade nodded and made a small sound by creaking their neck, and bounded up the stairs excitedly, the dice on their jester had jingling like bells. I turned my head towards Husk office, and all that I could hear was Husk yelling in Spanish. Fuck. I hesitantly walked down the hallway, standing at his door. Through the thin walls, I could hear him arguing with someone. Valentino.
"Escucha, Valentino, ya terminé con tu mierda, perra. Angel Dust no va a volver, métete eso en la maldita cabeza. No voy a—" He groaned as Valentino yelled back incoherently. "Valentino, si vuelves a hablarle así, te juro por Dios, que iré a tu estúpida torre y te estrangularé. Comprendido?" Valentino yelled again, and I could hear something break. Husk just growled, and I heard him slam his fist onto something. "Si lastimas a Angel, te lo juro—"
I knocked on the door, stepping inside silently. Husk turned to me, and he looked pissed. When he saw me, his eyes went wide. He growled, turning back to his phone, which he held in his hand. He exhaled deeply, using his free hand to run his fingers through the combed fur on his head. "Fuck you." Without another word, he ended the call, placing his phone on the desk. He sighed, leaning back in his chair, exhausted. I walked over to him, and stood there awkwardly for a moment. I nodded to him, and he did the same.
"Husk." He shut his eyes when I said his name. "Uhm... What was that?"
"Nothin' you need to worry about," he muttered, standing and walking over towards his bed. "Just Valentino. His typical bullshit..." He sighed, sitting down on his bed, gripping the sheets tightly. I frowned and sat next to him, not making eye contact. Husk huffed, his arms crossed as if he was annoyed at how close I was, but he didn't try to move.
"So... Spade said you needed to see me?"
"Oh, shit, right... Uh... Goddammit..." Husk sighed, and his face flushed a shade of grey. I glanced over at him, my eyebrow raised, a small smirk playing at my lips. I teasingly placed my hand on top of Husk's and his eyes went wide. He pulled his hand away, growling at me. I smiled softly, chuckling and turning away. Husk looked at the ground nervously. "Uh... I-I had two reservations for this restaurant down the street. I was gonna go with one of my old workers, but, uh... he quit a few weeks ago. I can't cancel the reservation, and I can't get my money back, and it was fuckin' expensive, so I ain't wastin' it. So, uh... I-I was wonderin' if... if, uh..."
"Are ya askin' me on a date, Whiskers?" I asked teasingly, my eyebrow raised. Husk's face flushed and he gripped the sheets of the bed tightly. He put on an angry expression, but I could tell he was embarrassed. I smiled, reaching out for his hand. "That's cute."
"What? No! I... Fuck no! It's not a date, it's... it's a platonic outing. That's all. I-I just..." His voice faltered and he groaned, covering his face with his hands. I gently placed a hand on his shoulder, trying to stop myself from laughing. "Y'know what? Th-this was fuckin' stupid, I'm sorry. I'll just go with Niffty or somethin'. I-I'm sorry for bothering—"
"Oh, no, no, no!" I reassured through giggles. Husk turned to me, his eyes wide and his eyebrow raised. "No, it's okay! I-I'd love to go with ya, Husk. Really. As, uh... partners. Business partners." I smirked at my last words, squeezing Husk's hand. His eyes were wide, and his mouth was agape in surprise. I smiled, using one of my extra hands to pet Husk's head. He cleared his throat, looking away.
"I... Okay. Yeah, okay. I-I have it reserved for tomorrow evenin' if, uh, that's okay? I-I'll text you... a-a few minutes before we leave. Yeah." When Husk spoke, his words were rushed, and he looked extremely nervous. It was honestly pretty cute... I stopped myself. This whole situation was way too romantic for business partners. I nodded, winking at Husk playfully.
"It's a date."
"Angel Dust, it is not a fuckin' date."
"Mhm. See ya tomorrow night, Husk."
"See ya."
I walked down the hallway, and towards the bar. Nobody was there, so I just decided to steal a bottle for myself. I took a bottle of tequila, and just sat at the bar. I hadn't really realized what I had just done and said to Husker until I sat there, actually thinking about my decisions. I felt my face grow warm, and my eyes go wide.
Oh.
Oh, shit.

♠ ♥ ♠[ This chapter was a bit rushed because I desperately wanted to get this chapter out today, because if you didn't know, today is Angel Dust's birthday! Also April Fools Day! Also, about my OC, Spade, if you go to my TikTok, which is in my Wattpad bio, I made a relationship chart with them and the other Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss characters, which also has my drawing of them! And if you were wondering what Spade was doing with Niffty, they were just talking together about Husker and Angel's date while painting Niff's nails. They're best friends! Anyways, thank you so much for reading! Next chapter will be fun! ]
