A few weeks later
Kyle still didn't fully understand how he could get that clone so quickly, but from the sounds of it, the people behind it just made edits to a premade one. The morning it arrived, he was excited. The band was going to be back to not being completely overworked constantly. Things would return to normal without everything being completely fucked up.
He brought the large, heavy box up to his room and opened it. He followed the instructions to add the last bit of finishing touches. Then, he turned it on. Instantly, he blinked in surprise, this robot was...incredibly similar to him. The only difference he could really notice was the eyes being a bright, glowing blue rather than Kyle's own forest green.
"Hello." It said, voice sounding uncanny. Kyle could've easily thought for a moment he was the clone and not this thing if he didn't know any better. Perfect. That's exactly what he wanted.
"Wow, sweet!" He exclaimed with a grin then started walking off, "Come on, we got band practice." The robot obediently followed him to the practice room, "Wait here." He stepped inside, "I found the new band member."
Kenny and Stan, though both exhausted, perked up. "Really?" Stan sounded relieved as Kyle nodded and opened the door, allowing the clone to walk in, "Meet Kyle 2.0."
"What?" Stan blinked a couple times, then looked at Kenny, then let his expression fall again, "You can't be serious, dude. Do you really think this is going to just go smoothly."
"It's better than Cartman!" Kyle snapped pointedly, then took his guitar out of the case and walked over to start practice. Stan stared at him a couple times before gritting his teeth and reluctantly handing the robot his guitar.
"Thank you, Stan." The robot smiled, causing Stan to shrink back with a rather disturbed expression. They then began practice.
Instantly, Kyle could hear the difference. He could hear Kenny breathe a sigh of relief. The robot even stopped with the rest of the band to make changes to the song. Kyle finally felt like he could just sit back and relax. Until he noticed the changes, that is. He instantly stopped the practice and looked at the group.
"What is THIS?" He blinked a couple times, exasperated, "It's not even the same song! The- the guitar's all over the place! You guys removed half the lyrics!"
"It's better. This is the best we've done in months." Stan said, "This might even be our best song. This robot of yours was a good idea."
"This was your idea?" Kyle was struck with shock as he looked at the robot. Maybe this was a bad idea. Holy shit.
"Yes. I'm glad I could help your band." The robot nodded.
"No! No! No! This is all wrong!" Kyle exclaimed, aghast. "You guys really didn't want any of my input on this?!"
"We tried to get your input!" Stan yelled back in frustration, "Just like we always do! But you haven't listened to us in months! We just have to do everything your way! Like that's the only way or something." He sighed and pinched his nose, closing his eyes as his tone quieted, "Look, I'm sorry, but you're not the only one in this band."
Kyle's eyes darted around the room in pure shock. He fucked up. He fucked up bad. This robot shouldn't be here. This was exactly the outcome he spent so much effort trying to avoid.
"You didn't even know Stan was non-binary." The robot stated and Stan's eyes instantly widened, looking at Kyle.
"Oh, so, you didn't listen to that either?" They questioned, crossing their arms.
"What?" Kyle blinked a couple times "I-"
"We're doing the song like this. It needs to work." Stan turned upsettedly away from Kyle.
"What?! Do you want me to just leave then? Ah yes, this band would be great with two members and a goddamn robot!"
Stan looked back at Kyle, eyes wide, "I never said-"
"Maybe it's for the best." Kenny shrugged.
"Fine then." Kyle muttered and walked out, "Have fun with your new best friend, Stan."
