Stella Clare Archeron

It was Solstice, so it meant my brother and friend were coming home to celebrate another year together. But I wasn't with them. It had been 7 years since Nyx and my cousins went to Illiria, every year was the same, we would cry of joy, and when they had to leave, we would just cry of sadness. But this year was different. It was their least years away. They would not go back to Illiria at the end of the Solstice. So they could wait a bit longer.

I was inside Mor's apartment, sitting at her side in the living room. I ran as soon as I heard it was urgent. I knew exactly what it was.

"So let me get this straight." I said perplexed "Are you saying they just killed Samuel? Out of the blue? Why? I think it was a dumb choice of actions"

"I know right?" My favorite aunt, Mor, was shocked. " I almost stopped reading. Seriously. Like, it didn't even make sense. He was the main character for crying out loud."

I looked at Morrigan. Crying out loud, seriously? At that point I was just staring at her.

"You think I'm too old?" She said offended. I just nodded. "Honey, you are old."

"Technically I'm only 13"

"If you were a human," Mor wisely said "but you're not human. You will never be."

"Yeah, but still. You are kinda old, don't try to deny it"

"Stella, please" She was pissed.

I looked at the clock and jumped.

"We have to go. It's almost my mother's birthday, and i didnt even say hi to my dad."

We ran in the streets, people laughed, because it happened every single year. We would continue talking, and lose track of time, and then we would have to run miles home, to meet the rest of the family.

It was almost sunset when we crossed the front door. I said we ran. I didn't say we ran fast. Everyone was sitting in the dining room waiting for us. As usual.

"I see that you don't care for your family anymore Stella '' This was the first thing my brother said to me that year. He had a smile on his face.

"Nyx, don't start, '' My mom said angrily, not hearing the irony in my brother's voice. She was stunning as always. She was wearing a purple sparkly dress that followed her curves as a charm. There was a detail in black in the sleeves which made the dress even more beautiful.

"I missed you too Nyx" I said, smiling in his direction. He was going to his first year in the best high school in the night court, which happens to be in Velaris. So no more camp for my brother.
