Cynane Pomoc
I watch the clock move and my hands are steady. John is sitting next to me. The office is exactly the same, with paintings on the walls and papers spread from floor to ceiling. People come and go, as if this room were public. Something is happening and I don't know what to think.
I looked over to where my father was talking to the High Lord of the Winter and Autumn court, and I could see that neither of them were happy to be there. Khallias, the albino, didn't speak, but I could sense that he wasn't comfortable at all. Maybe he was hot. Definitely.
One thing that many didn't know, spring was definitely very hot. As the days pass, the weather becomes increasingly strange. Rains that last for days, there are days where we can't stay indoors because it's too hot.
I don't care about the changes anymore, but I know that many visitors are a little bit annoyed. But it was definitely better than snow every day like in winter, or the incessant mud that gives me agony in autumn.
Every time I had to go to the Autumn Court it was horrible. When I say that the rain at home was bad, I was exaggerating, since the autumn rain was twenty times worse, incessant. When the rain stopped, the leaves that constantly fall have the texture of something rotten, they become filthy and I often make them fall into the streets. In addition to the terrible fact that visitors never know if anyone is watching, as residents manage to camouflage themselves among the trees with their orange hair.
The office doors open again and I roll my eyes. I see the winterlord perk up, which could only be one thing. Their children had arrived. I didn't know exactly what to rethink, they had been nice to me when I had focused on their court, but they had objected years before to my father. I decided to stay quiet.
Upon entering I see something that I hadn't noticed before. Along with the winter's brothers, there was a new boy. One I had never seen before. He was tall and athletic. There weren't people like that in spring, but he didn't look like he was from the winter court, since his hair was as dark as night. I get goosebumps, realizing who exactly he looks like.
"Welcome to all of you" My father exclaimed excitedly. My brother and I got up with him. "I'm so glad you all found your rooms quickly and I hope you enjoy your stay here."
The only one who seemed happy to be here was the mysterious boy. Everyone else kept their faces closed.
"I appreciate you letting us stay at your place, my boys and I definitely appreciated the invitation." Khallias said waving to his children.
"I hope Cynane didn't give you trouble, only I know how difficult she can be sometimes" My father says and I feel my cheeks turn pink with embarrassment, but I don't say anything at all. Even when Nicholas and his sister are laughing.
"Cynane wasn't a problem at all, she was a sweetheart. I don't have any negative things to say about her." The Lord speaks and I feel like slamming his head on the corner of my father's desk.
My brother seems to understand how I feel, as he holds my hand tightly. Khallias couldn't defend me, he would show that I'm weak, useless even to be bad.
"We have a lot to talk about, Khallias and Beron, but I know they must both be tired and there is nothing urgent we need to talk about right now. I'll let you guys do what you need to do. Dinner took place at the same time, at seven-thirty at night. But if you are very tired, you can ask the staff to bring food to your rooms."
Lie. That was a lie, and everyone knew it. You don't turn down a dinner invitation, and you definitely have to oblige if you're sleeping over.
"Before everyone leaves, I would like to speak to Cynane, Beron, and Cameron." My father looks at me, happiness written all over his face. Looking at my brother, I can only think that he is feeling the complete opposite. Something was wrong, and I didn't know exactly what it was.
