Chapter 3 - School Gates

"Georgie wait up!" Blue was running after me so I slowed down. "What's with you?" he clearly didn't see what just happened so I told him. "Oh.." "Yeah, Oh". "Don't think about it too much. One day Charlie will see what type of girl Alicia is and dump her" he said, trying to make me feel better. "Whatever" I mumbled and walking into English.

*Riinngg* the bell for lunch went. The past few lessons were torture, I had to put up with Alicia flirting with Charlie every 2 seconds and whenever I tried to talk to him Alicia would butt in so in the end, I gave up. I got my food and sat down with Blue on our own table. Of course, he was with the football jock. "Hey Georgie" this was the first time the football jock had spoken to me, and Blue gave me a look. A look that said 'I will murder you if you try to steal him' but I wasn't going to. I was too focused on Charlie. I was in my own world when I heard someone sit down next to us. I looked over and saw Charlie, but this time he was alone. A smile grew on my face as I turned to face him. "H-hey Ch-charlie" I was stuttering so bad and I didn't know what to say. "Hey Georgie" he replied softly, smiling. "So I was wondering-" "CHARLIE!!" Alicia shouted from across the the dining hall. Charlie got up and said "Sorry, talk to you later" and ran over to Alicia. Damnit! "UGH!" I slammed my fork onto the table. "Why does she have to ruin everything"

 I turned around to see the jock about to kiss Blue, but Blue turned his cheek. "What's wrong?" the jock asked Blue, slightly offended. "Oh um- nothing" Blue said shyly. "Then why don't you want to kiss me?" the jock asked, more with curiosity now. "Because he hasn't had his first kiss" I said with a smug look on my face. Blue shot me daggers and tried to kick me under the table. "Really?" the jock didn't believe me one bit. "Y-yeah..." Blue trailed off, embarresed. "I just want it to be special, you know?" Blue tried explaining himself, but the Jock wasn't listening. Instead he stood up and said "when you're ready to be in a real relationship let me know" ouch, that must've hurt. When the jock was gone Blue went ballistic on me but it was worth it, his face was priceless. Its not like I've ruined his life, he was gonna dump him anyway! *Riinngg* the bell went, indicating the next lesson, which was history. I realised that Blue wasn't in the same lesson so we went out seperate ways.

I sat down and paid attention to the board. I didn't look to see who was in the class because I didn't see the point. I would only see more of Alicia's flirting. "In 1995 the French revolution..." I zoned out to what the teacher was saying. I went into my own world, wondering if Charlie even likes me, both as a friend and in that way. My thoughts were disrupted when a note landed on my table. I looked to see the boy next to me who threw it and he pointed towards the person next to him. This went on till the pointing landed a Charlie, who was now looking forward. I opened the note and it said

'Hey, wanna hang out after school? Meet me outside the gates after school x'

My heart stopped. He wanted to hang out with me?? Why would he want to do that? I re read the note and saw the x he put on the end. I wanted to scream. That x made the butterflies in my stomach go mental. I turned the note over and wrote 'yes' on the end but I didn't know if I should've wrote the x so I put a smiley face instead. I sent it over and his eyes gleamed when he read what I wrote. He looked back and gave me a smile which I returned and then he went back to focusing on the lesson.

My next lesson was maths and luckily Blue was in this lesson. "BLUE OMFG BLUE" I screamed at him when he sat down. The teacher hadn't arrived yet and we were the firsts ones there "What?" he replied, jumping at my shouting. "CHARLIE WANTS TO HANG OUT WITH ME AFTER SCHOOL!!!!" "OMFG NO WAY" "YES WAY!" we both screamed but abruptly stopped when the teacher walked in. I couldn't concentrate all lesson; I was too busy thinking about why Charlie wanted to hang out with me. My questions would be answered after school so I had to wait. The lesson dragged on for so long. Why does time go so slow when I want it to go fast!? The bell rang and I jumped out of my chair. "Miss Davis, the bell does not decide when the lesson ends, I do, now sit down" but I didn't listen. I ran out with the whole class following beside me. "Hey, I'll catch up with you later? I don't want to ruin yours and Charlie's moment" Blue said, walking towards the exit. "Ok, sure, and could you tell Ryan not to wait for me?" A massive smile grew on Blue's face and he giggled "Ryan!?" he half shouted "Okay!" he skipped away. What was up with him. Then I made my way to the school gates.
