Blake picked me up an hour later than he originally claimed he would arrive. If I'm being honest, it pissed me off. In the grand scheme of things, I suppose it doesn't really matter if he showed up slightly late. It's better than not showing at all, which has happened before.
The restaurant was absolutely stunning. I've never been somewhere this fancy before and to be perfectly honest, I felt like I didn't belong there. I'm not sure if he took me here to make up for that week or because my birthday is around the corner. Regardless, I was grateful for the gesture.
He looked really nice with his dirty blond hair slicked back and black tux. He has a nice chiseled chin, inherited from his father just like his money. His deep blue looked into mine as we sat across the table from each other. I really just want to kiss the hell out of him. He must have sensed my desire, because he slid his hand under the table to rest it on my lower thigh. "What are you going to eat, Chels? Don't worry about the price, it's on me, okay?"
It's sweet that he knows how I overthink these things. I mean, I guess that's what 2 years of knowing a person entails. I just always felt guilty when he spent his money on me. I kind of felt like a waste of his money. I'd rather him spend it on something more meaningful like charity donations.
Just before I could reply, the waiter came around to take our food order.

"Thank you for dinner. It was delicious." I smiled thinking about my full stomach and how grateful I was to have such luxurious things to eat.
He stopped kissing my neck momentarily to look me in the eyes, moving his gaze to my lips, responding in between kisses. "You're." Kiss. "Very." Kiss. "Welcome." Kiss. "Chels." He grinned against my mouth. Raising his eyebrows, he asked, "Are you ready for dessert?"
I just started laughing in response. "You think you're funny, don't you?"
He shook his head. "I know I'm funny."
"I love you, Blake." In those moments, things started to feel normal again.
