Connor ran into the bathroom his white shirt doused in blue, not his. His fierce pupils made eye contact with himself in the mirror, seeing the state of himself he desperately tugged his tie off beginning to scrub at his hands how breath growing more raggedy by the second.
He's just returned from a mission with lieutenant Anderson, the success expectancy was so high all Connor had to do was grab the criminal deviant and handcuff them but that didn't go to plan. The deviant had slipped out a hand out of Connors grip and shot themselves right in his arms against his chest. Connor felt the weight of their body go limp agains his own, ringing in his ears. This was more than just an unsuccessful mission, ever since he'd become alive he felt as though everyday he was growing more incompetent, what used to be a machine now growing weaker in the mind with each day.
His jacket flew off his shoulders as he stared himself down in the mirror, clenching his jaw to stop his teeth from chattering he drew his gun out of his holster, pressing it deep against his chin. What was stopping him ? Pathetic piece of plastic couldn't even pull the trigger on himself he thought. "Just do it you fucker !" His arms grew weary beginning to shake as he threatened himself with the trigger, blue tinted tears streaming down his face his voice growing more aggravated. "F-Fucking come on!" He growled. It wasn't long before Hank ran charging through the men's dpd bathroom doors, his face dropping in horror as he lunged at Connor. "CONNOR NO!" He cried.
Connors heart sank at the sight of Hank rushing in behind him, his mind desolate and hopeless he closed his eyes pulling the trigger.
The ringing in his ears continued.
Hank had tackled Connor to the ground just in time, cradling him in his arms as the guns lid across the floor, a deep smoking hole in the ceiling. "For fucks sake... you're alright son." he muttered under his breath, trying his best to calm his racing heart and catch his breath. He'd know Connor was struggling with the whole sentience thing and becoming alive, but Jesus if he'd known it was this bad he wouldn't have left him to it like this.
Connor couldn't look Hank in the face at a moment like this, his body splayed on the tile floor he softly wept into the older man's sleeve ashamed and still incompetent.
