Y/n POV:

I was with Devin and Felix. We were fishing on the west shore. The only reason we weren't fishing on the south shore was because the mermaids were giving us problems. I felt a tug on the net I was holding. I started to pull up but it was really heavy.

"Hey, can you guys come and help me?" I ask Devin and Felix.

"Are you asking us to help you pull in a fish net?" Devin asked bewildered.

"Yes, it is really heavy right now. Are you going to help me or not?" I sounded a little irritated.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah, we'll help you." Felix said while putting his hands up in surrender.

They both come over and grab the net with one hand, thinking it was going to be easy.

"Whoa! You weren't kidding when you said it was heavy." Felix said while grabbing the net firmer with both his hands. Devin doing the same.

"No, I was not kidding. I am not a girl just tying to flirt and act weak. If I can do it myself I will do it myself." I answered.

"Okay. We all pull on three." Devin said.

Felix and I both nod our heads.

"One..." We all say.

"Two..."

"Three!"

As we called three we pulled the net up to reveal a whole net full of big, edible fish.

"No wonder it was heavy." I laugh.

"Wow! This is a LOT of fish." Devin said not being able to hold in his laughter.

"For a second I thought we were all weak." Felix said, laughing as well.

We laugh for a minute.

"Okay, now to get all this fish to camp." I rub my hands together, thinking very hard.

"Can we just carry the nets with the fish in them back to camp?" Devin asked, obviously confused.

"No, the fish need to be put in concealed bags to keep their moisture so they taste better." Felix answered Devin.

"Oooooohhhhh, right." Devin said as it clicked in his brain.

(I have no idea if the fish information is true or not. I am not a fisher.)

"Felix, why don't you go and grab so more bags at camp and Devin, why don't you go grab the bags on the shore that we brought and I will sort the fish." I ordered.

Both nod their heads and ran off to do their tasks.

I bend down and start sorting the fish by what kind they are: Salmon, Tuna, and Cod.

As I was sorting I saw movement in the water. I look at where the movement was but didn't see anything. I continue to sort but, again, there was another movement. This time I swear I say a shadow in the water.

I get up and move closer to the edge. I am trying to get a better look in the water. Then a mermaid launched themselves on me. The mermaid pulled me into the water since I wasn't expecting this and lost my balance. I couldn't scream because I was pulled in so quick.

The mermaid got her hands wrapped around my arms and waist while her tail was around my legs. I was trying to get out but her grip was too strong. I was in desperate need of air.

My body was starting to shut itself off. I start seeing black spots as my vision starts going blurry. It was getting harder and harder for me to keep my eyes open let alone get away from the mermaids grip.
