Peter Pan POV:
I am ordering the Lost Boys around camp right now. We have a new Lost Boy so I am making sure everyone does the new jobs they are assigned correctly.
"Tyler! You don't do that anymore!" I yell to one of my boys. "Matthew! You stack not throw!"
I sigh angrily. Theses boys are really struggling to remember what their new jobs are.
"Pan, give them a break. They are doing great for different jobs. They are the youngest ones too." Felix says as he walks up to my side.
It's true. Matthew and Tyler are the two youngest and for being the youngest they are doing a pretty good job.
"You're right." I mumble.
"And that's surprising?" Felix says back.
I roll my eyes at him. Felix and Devin are the only two boys who know me. Like, actually know me. Everyone else just knows me as their leader but Felix and Devin know me as a friend. It is nice to have them. Even if I don't admit it to them, they still know.
I hear running footsteps and heavy breathing. I turn around to see Devin and Walker. They are out of breath as they continue to run up to me and Felix.
"Pan." Devin manages to get out while barely breathing.
"Devin, Walker, what happened?" I ask in an orderly way.
"There-there-there-" Walker starts but can't get it out.
"Whoa, catch your breath first." Felix says.
"The shadow-" Devin says.
"The shadow? What about the shadow?" I ask.
"It-it-it brought a, uh-" Walker continues but stops.
"Brought what?" I ask starting to get curious.
Both of the boys finish catching their breath and stand up straight. They look at each other and at the same time say:
"A girl."
Felix and I stand there in shock.
"A girl?" Felix asks.
Both the boys nod their heads.
"A girl? You're sure?" Felix asks again.
"Positive." Devin says.
"We saw her with out own eyes." Walker adds.
"And where is she?" I ask.
"In the forest." Devin replies.
"Why would you leave her in the forest?" I ask a little angry.
Wait, why am I getting angry? She is just a girl. I haven't even seen her yet. Why would I even care?
"What were we supposed to do with her?" Devin asks.
"Bring her here." Felix states the obvious.
"She isn't awake." Walker says.
"So?" Felix asks.
"How would we bring her here if she's asleep?" Devin asks.
"Carry her." I state.
"You want us to carry a girl into camp?" Walker asks.
"Yes." Felix and I say at the same time.
"Oh." Devin says as he thinks about it. "How are we supposed to carry a girl?"
"Like a guy." Felix answers.
"Makes sense." Walker mumbles under his breath.
"Now, where is the girl?" I ask.
"This way." Devin says as he motions to follow him.
***
Felix and I follow Devin and Walker as they lead the way. We have been walking for about 10 minutes now.
"Are we almost there?" I ask starting to get annoyed.
"Yep." Walker says.
"You said that 5 minutes ago." Felix adds.
"Well, it felt shorter when we ran to camp." Devin says.
"No wonder you two were out of breath." Felix says.
"What? Did you think we are weak?" Devin asks as he looks to Felix.
"No, well, maybe."
"Wow, how nice of you." Walker mumbles.
I let out a soft chuckle at the three. It's like watching a movie. Well, that's what I think they are called.
"Here we are." Walker says with a swoop of his hand.
We all look to see a girl laying on the ground unconscious. She has a hood over her face and hair. She looks maybe around 15. I'm not sure since I can't see her features.
I walk over to her and bend down. I move the hood out of her face softly. Her hair is kinda in the way but I can tell she is around 15. She has y/h/c hair and soft pale/tan/dark skin. She looks gorgeous....
Wait? Did I just say that? Why would I say something like that? Peter Pan doesn't fall in love!
"Well?" Felix asks.
"Well, what?" I ask as I look up to the three looking at me.
"Well, what are we going to do with her?" Devin asks for Felix.
"Isn't it obvious?" I ask.
"No." Walker answers.
"We are bringing her to camp." I state.
"What?!" They all yell at the same time.
"Yes." I answer.
"You want a girl to live in camp?" Devin asks in shock.
"The shadow brought her here for a reason." I state.
"But it's a girl." Walkers states the obvious.
"Yes, she is a girl. So?" I say.
"So you want a girl to live with a bunch of boys?" Felix asks also in shock.
"Yes. What is the problem?" I ask as I start to get extremely irritated.
"Nothing." They all say quickly.
"Good. Now lets get her back to camp." I say as I stand up.
"How?" Devin asks.
"We already talked about this. Like a guy." Felix says.
I shake my head 'no'.
"That doesn't seem right." I say.
"Well, then, how are we going to carry her?" Walker asks.
"Like you carry a stack of logs." I state.
"What?" Felix says confused.
I sigh as I bend down again.
"I'll do it." I mumble.
I softly put my arms under her knees and her back. I grasp her softly so I don't wake her up but so she is secure. I lift her up and her head falls onto my chest as one of her arms hangs.
"Like this." I say to all the boys.
All their mouths are open in shock.
"What?" I ask.
"Your holding a girl." Devin says.
"Yeah. So?" I say.
"Gently." Felix adds.
It's true. I never am gently with anyone really. This is new for me but for some reason it doesn't feel new. It is just kinda happening. Like instincts kicked in or something.
"Let's just get back to camp." I order as I start to walk back.
The boys lead the way back to camp. As we are walking I look down at the girl.
"Welcome home, My Lost Girl." I whisper.
