-soap's Pov-
It had been months since we lost the war. I was walking around town with ghost. I was wearing jeans and a hoodie while Ghost wore sweatpants and a hoodie. We both had our hoods up.
The whole task force was on the top of Shepherd's hit list.
Everything was silent, we were listening to kids playing in a nearby park. Oh how innocent they were, it was sad knowing what they were growing up in.
This world was no longer safe. If you break curfew you get executed. You do a petty crime you get executed. You disrespect Shadow Company you get executed.
It was like walking in egg shells. I felt my whole personality changing. I used to be light-hearted, funny and happy. Now I was miserable and serious. It felt like the fun had been sucked out of life.
You couldn't do anything without the risk of being locked up or executed.
We watched as the kids played in the park, we were sad we couldn't save them from the life they are probably going to live.
I sighed. I rested my head in Ghosts shoulder. "It's sad... isn't it?" I whispered.
"Yeah...it is they're not going to have a proper childhood" Ghost whispered back. I nodded my head sadly. "Yeah..." I muttered.
I moved my body closer to him. He wrapped his arms around my shoulders. I smiled watching the children be so innocent and pure.
We heard something pops in the distance, we didn't think much of it until they got closer, that's when we realised they were gunshots. Ghost let go of me and was quickly on alert. Anxiety crept in like a shroud of darkness, it felt like a snake was coiling around my stomach and squeezing the life out of me.
"Run!" Ghost shouted making a run for an alleyway. I started to sprint after him. We ran through the alleyway.
We saw a fence ahead of us, we climbed over the fence and kept running. My lungs felt like they were burning. "Ghost..." I said panting.
I stumbled and fell. I landed on all fours. I looked up and saw Ghost skidding to a halt and looking back. He ran to me and dragged me to my feet. He held my hand as we ran.
We made our way up to a rooftop and we kept running, the gunshots were getting louder. We kept running. "We gotta jump!" Ghost shouted.
Ghost then jumped over the edge of the building. My heart skipped a beat. "Ghost!!" I screamed running to the edge of the building and looking down to see Ghost on the roof of the next building.
I took a few steps back and started to sprint towards the edge.
What if I don't make it? What if I miss the building? I'll fall to my death. What if it goes wrong? All these questions swirled around my head.
Then I jumped...
Time seemed to slow down as I fell through the air.
I saw Ghost reaching out as I fell.
I missed the building...
No...no...no...no...no..
I don't want to die! Not like this! Please!
Why did time seem to be going so slow...a tear fell from my eye as I accepted my fate...this was it...I was going to fall and die...
I closed my eyes not wanting to see what happened next...
"JOHNNY!!" I Heard Ghost shout.
Then a hand wrapped around my wrist...
My eyes snapped open and I saw Ghost leaning over the edge holding my wrist so I wouldn't fall...
"I got you Johnny!" He said reassuringly. I smiled glad he had saved me.
He pulled me up and wrapped his big strong arms around me. "I got you..." He whispered "I got you..."
Then a helicopter rose up and Price was in the back. "Get in!" Price yelled over the propeller blades. We both jumped in and we flew into the sunset.
