𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒 𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐒𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐋𝐘 more fun on the Upper East Side. Our favourite things to wake up to the sun in the sky, the Nikkei on the rise, and a wake-up call from your latest lover or your best friend.

I was with my sister when she was phoning Blair repeatedly until she woke up, "Good, you're up." The older girl suddenly grinned as she spun into the phone, "After the whole Carter-Chuck thing, you can't blame me for wanting to check in on you."

She pulled the phone away from her ear and put it on speaker so I could speak to the girl too, "As much as I appreciate the concern, my downward spirals on the upturn. I'm at home in my pyjamas eating French toast with Dorota."

I frowned at the sound of a car beeping on the other line, "What was that?"

"Dorota has a cold," She quickly replied.

Serena shrugged, "It sounded like a car horn. It must have been on my end."

"Where are you?" She asked.

"73rd and Madison headed to get some pastures for our new family breakfast." She told her.

"If I wasn't so full on French toast I'd ask you to bring me some." She said, "See you at school."

"Tell Dorota to feel better," I called out before ending the phone.

𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐖𝐀𝐒 Jenny's birthday breakfast with the family. The Humphrey's had arrived early that morning before me and Serena had gotten home.

"Morning, guys," I called out to them once I got home.

They all smiled in our direction as I sat down on the bar stool, "You didn't start without us, did you?" Serena panicked, "You didn't tell her yet?"

"No," Lily spoke excitedly.

Jenny frowned, "Tell me what?"

The older woman turned to her stepdaughter, "Well, we wanted to tell you in person."

"We are planning a sweet sixteen party for you, here, tomorrow night." My sister gushed.

Lily nodded, "Fantastic caterer and beautiful flowers."

"DJ, the perfect guest list." Serena finished, "We wanted it to be a surprise though."

"But you had one of those last year and it didn't go so well." Lily joked.

Rufus nodded, "Yeah, so this year I was more than happy to delegate to people who knew better. So what do you think?"

Her nervous chuckle caused me to cringe, "You're not excited?" Dan questioned.

"No, I am." She denied, "I totally am. It's just last year I would've killed for a party like this but this year things seem different. I don't know, I was just kind of hoping it would be us and Vanessa, Jonothan and Nate. I'm sorry. Is that okay?"

Lily smiled, "Of course. It's your birthday. It's whatever you want. I'll go cancel the caterer."

"I've gotta get to school," I spoke up, "Bye, guys."

𝐈 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐖𝐀𝐋𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 along the streets of New York on my way to school when I rounded the corner to find Blair and Nate in an embrace a bit too friendly for my liking outside his house.

I stopped in my tracks at the shock of the situation, tears brimming my eyes at the thought as Chuck's limo appeared next to me, "Nova," He called out to me.

I jumped away in surprise, "Chuck, what the hell?"

He rolled his eyes, "Blair leaves his place at this time every morning the past few days. When you're ready to do something about it, you know where I am."

I didn't have time to comprehend his words before he drove away. Could Nate really be cheating on me?

𝐌𝐘 𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐃 𝐖𝐀𝐒 swirling with thoughts of Nate and Blair. I didn't know what to think of the situation but I had Jenny's party to distract me.

I was drunk. Absolutely pissed out of my mind. I know it wasn't responsible for a sixteen-year-old birthday party, but I didn't care.

I stumbled around the place in search of another drink when I ran into someone's body, "Sorry," I slurred. I looked up to see my boyfriend looking down at me.

"Nova, you're drunk?" He asked.

I chuckled, "As a skunk."

He frowned, "Why are you drinking?"

I rolled my eyes, "Why do you care?"

"Nova, what the hell?" He scoffed, "What's going on with you?"

I was struggling to stand straight at this point, "What's going on with you and Blair? If you want her back just tell me so we can both get on with our lives."

He scoffed, "Are you being serious right now? Where is this coming from?"

"Don't lie. Chuck saw you." I shrugged.

"Nova, what? I would never cheat on you. Me and Blair are friends." He denied, "I would never do that to you. I love you. Don't let Chuck get into your head."

I nodded, "You're right. I'm sorry. Are we good?"

"Of course." He smiled, "Now, let's get you to bed."

𝐈 𝐖𝐎𝐊𝐄 𝐔𝐏 that morning with the worst hangover. I groaned at the pounding headache that had approached. I rolled over to feel the body of my boyfriend beside me, his arm wrapped tightly around my waist.

The two of us were stood outside the church, our lips attached, "You look beautiful." He grinned.

I chuckled, "Nate Archibald, are you trying to seduce me on church property?"

He hummed in response before leading me up the steps to the church, "Oh, Tripp asked me to go to lunch with him. He said it was important. I think he's actually just scared I'm gonna talk about his ex-girlfriends during my toast."

I nodded, "It's fine. I'll come by before dinner."

He stopped in his tracks as he turned to face me, "I have something to tell you." I nodded for him to continue, "I got into Columbia."

My smile grew at his words, "That's amazing." I whisper yelled as he pulled me into his arms.

He agreed, "I know I just wanted to see if I could get in without any help. All my grandfather had to do to get me into Yale was make a phone call."

I nodded, "I'm so happy for you. Well done."

Maureen suddenly walked over to us and immediately pulled me into her arms, "Nova, it's so sweet of you to come."

"Lovely to see you." I smiled.

Nate turned to me, "I better go. The rehearsals starting but I'll see you later." I nodded before leaving the church.
