The rocks around Mia dropped along with her, her body was weak and hurt from all the attacks she was doing.without hesitation, Luke lunged forward, immediately blocking him from me. He kept glancing at me, not knowing what to do. He couldn't fight with Mia this close. He could kill her, and with how injured she was, there was no way she could just get up and move.
"Just go, damn it, I got her." Jake insisted as he carefully picked me up; my body was frail as it dangled in his arms.
"I swear, Jake, if you do anything to hurt her-"
"Just shut the hell up and focus on the fight; she'll be alright." Jake immediately took Mia to get medical attention, wasting no time to ensure the doctors saw her right away as with her injuries, she didn't have much time.
The screams echoed through the walls of the medical camp; they were so loud, almost as if someone was getting massacred in there, but with her body fighting itself against the new power that she had set aside for decades, it was finally fighting her back.
"For fucks sake, Mia, you have to let them help you." Jake got behind Mia, holding her arms down for her own sake. "You need to breathe. If not, you're going to die."
Finally, after a rough couple of minutes, Mia's breathing finally slowed down. "P-please. It hurts so bad," she muttered as she clutched her hands into fists as her nails embodied into them.
Jake grunted, slightly annoyed that he was going through all this trouble for her. "You'll be fine," he said, gazing at the doctors, signaling them to proceed now that she was stable.
After Mia left, Luke and the threat wasted no time. Flames could be seen in the distance from every direction, flying everywhere. Their strikes were so fast that it was hard to see them; all that was visible was the smoke.
"You can wield the blue flames." The guy grinned. "But for how long before it begins to burn you?"
Luke lunged forward, throwing more attacks towards the enemy. He knew he was right: If the higher-ups didn't arrive soon, his body couldn't take this for much longer. "I've barely been practicing with this power, and overdoing it will do no good," he thought.
As for Mia, she received an injection of medication to alleviate the pain that was causing her entire body to spike.
"Luke..?"
"Yeah?"
"What if I can't do it? Control my power?"
Luke chuckled. "Then I'll be your shield until you do."*Panting, I couldn't hold him off any longer; the flames were becoming too strong. I could feel the heat radiating from my body as if I were on fire."
"Do you think I'll ever be able to protect you?"
Luke patted Mia's head. "It's cute that you think so."The floor Luke was standing on, he could feel, began to rumble. What was this power?? And where was it coming from..
*monitor spiking*
The medical building Evelyn was at began to rumble, and her monitor was spiking up and out of control. She's unconscious.. is this her?? And if it was, that could only mean one thing. Jake implied as he watched the monitor beep out of control as the power rose.
Luke pranced back, ready for impact, as he watched something circle from under the ground around the threat. "What the hell,-"
Before he had any time to react, a dragon-shaped as rocks rose from the ground. It looked directly at the enemy and then attacked. It went straight for him, pulling him deeper and deeper into the ground. It dragged him to the core until it was nearly impossible for anyone to come back up from.
