Chapter 18

                               Matthew's POV
I walked into the hospital wing and started looking around. I found Keira then ran up to her.

"I-I'm here. I managed to catch a red eye."

"There you are."

"H-how is she?"

"She's okay. She's tired but she's okay."

I walked into Kailiah's hospital room. I saw she was awake. She was just doing something on her phone.

"Baby!"

I ran up to her then carefully started hugging her.

"I've been so worried about you. Did your friends really do this?"

"Yeah."

I cupped her face then pressed our foreheads together.

"I got here as fast as I could."

She started crying.

"I'm in so much pain."

"I know. I'm so sorry."

She got more pain meds then I helped her lay back down. She closed her eyes. I cupped her left cheek. I started stroking her cheek with my thumb. She looked up at me.

I've never seen her this sad before.

"Matty? Please take me away from this goddamn town."

"Don't worry. I will. I promise. You're coming home with me this time. I'm not leaving you behind anymore."

Her eyes started fluttering.

"It's okay. Go to sleep. I'm not going anywhere."

Her eyes closed. I moved her hair out of her face. I kissed her forehead.

"Matt? Can I talk to you?"

"Yeah."

Me and Oliver walked out of her hospital room.

"I honestly can't thank you enough. Nobody's been there for her like you are."

"You don't need to thank me. I'd do anything for her. I always will."

"She's lucky to have you."

"And I'm lucky to have her."

Kailiah needed help showering and getting dressed. I said I'd help her with everything. Her stitches were dissolvable but she still needed help. The first thing she wanted to do when she got home was take a shower.

I turned the water on in the shower so it could heat up. I put a chair in there. The water heated quickly.

"Okay baby. Let's get you washed up."

I helped her take off her clothes. She sat down in the chair and I took my clothes off. I opened her brand new razor so I could help her shave.

"Darling? Are you okay?"

"I think so?"

I picked her razor up.

"Arms up."

She put her arms up and I started shaving her armpits. When I was done with that, I sat down on the shower floor. I started shaving her legs.

"Baby?"

"Hm?"

"I love you."

"I love you too Jax."

I finished shaving her legs then started helping her wash her body. I put shampoo in my hands and started washing her hair.

I washed her hair then washed mine quickly. I turned the water off. I helped her get out of the shower and helped her dry off. I helped her get dressed then I got dressed.

I helped her lay down on her bed.

"I need my pain meds. Can you go get them?"

"Yeah. I'll be right back."

I grabbed her pain meds and a drink. I watched her take her pain meds then I laid down next to her.
