Bruce Banner POV
I wasn't really doing anything of much importance when Steve and the new blond girl, who somehow ended up living in the tower, dragged an unconscious boy into my med bay.
"What is this, what is going on!" I shouted, as they ushered in Percy. He looked pale and weak, and his knuckles were slightly bloody.
"Flashback while working out," Steve huffed, as they dragged him onto the bed. "Passed out and we carried him over here."
I just nodded as I started to get to work. I wasn't even a medically licensed doctor, but I tried my best. I checked his lung sounds and moved to take a look at his knuckles. I gave him an oxygen mask for his rapid and labored breathing."Okay, I think he should be good now," I said, after working on him for about fifteen to twenty minutes. "But let's keep him here overnight so I can watch him."
Annabeth, the blond girl, just nodded, and took a seat over at the closest chair. Her posture was stiff as a board as she folded her hands together, as if praying. She looked scared and terrified for her boyfriend.
"Hey, Percy is going to be alright," I tried to say, to comfort her.
"That's not what I'm worried about," she just replied. "Percy's going to be alright. He's going to continue acting as if he's alright. But we're not. And we're no where close to being alright."
I didn't know anything about these two. I heard the overall rumors that had been spreading around, that they had been in the military since 15. I knew they got a lot of stares for that, but I knew nothing about their time of service.
"May I ask what had happened? Do you think you know what triggered this flashback?" I asked Annabeth, trying to get a few answers. She looked at me, with a dead serious expression on her face. Her calculating gray eyes were searching my face, as if trying to detect anything suspicious.
"Hell," she just settled with. "Literal hell. I know what caused it, but I can't speak about it without possibly getting triggered as well."
"Then we don't talk about it," I said easily, still frowning at the word hell. What did she mean?
"I know you have questions, Mr. Banner. All of which will be answered soon. Just nothing right now," she told me, firmly. I just nodded.
I looked back over at the boy lying down on the table. I tried not to pay attention to the many scars littering his body, but I knew there was a story and message behind each and every one of them.
But, until then, Percy and Annabeth would just remain a mystery to me.
