Heavy is the head that wears the crown.

The crazy part is that they didn't even have the crown yet. Just heavy tiaras that held the promise of ruling a kingdom one day. Luckily for them, they were about to get a break from the tiara for a while. They were going to Princess Charm School. HOOfuckingRAY!

Princess Fantasia Monique David of the kingdom of Harmonia woke up to the sound of her parents coming down the hall towards her room, joyous and full of life. She threw her covers up over her head and wished them away. She knew what day it was and why her parents were so excited. Today was a day she dreaded since she learned about it at the age of 15. Now at the age of 18, the time had come, and she was not ready.

"Wake up Princess!" Her dad, King Keith J. David of Harmonia, exclaimed, bursting into the room. He was followed by Fantasia's mother, Queen Sheryl Lee David of Harmonia, who gracefully floated over to her bed, perching herself on the side of it, tugging gently at her daughter's covers while Keith drew the curtains.

"Good morning! Come on, darling. Let me see that pretty face of yours!" Sheryl tugged on the covers once more, but Fantasia held tight.

"No, mommy!" She whined petulantly. Keith sat on the other side of the bed from his wife, assisting at unveiling their daughter. Fantasia knew she couldn't fight them for much longer so she surrendered in their game of tug-of-war and was greeted by the smiles of her parents. Fantasia loved her parents more than anything in the world, and seeing them so happy gave her no choice but to smile.

"There she is! There's my beautiful chocolate baby!" Sheryl said, leaning forward and smothering her daughter's faces in kisses, causing a fit of giggles.

"Are you ready, princess?" Keith asked. Fantasia sat up against the headboard, toying with the edge of her comforter.

"As ready as I'll ever be, daddy," she pouted. The smiles on her parent's faces morphed into frowns and worry replaced the sparkle in their eyes. Fantasia instantly felt horrible. She knew the importance this held to them and the kingdom. Charm school was the ultimate test of whether a princess was ready to either take over her kingdom or marry into another one. If a princess didn't complete and pass charm school, their parents would have to find another heir for their throne, and that princess couldn't marry a royal that was an heir to the throne.

"Are you okay, honey?" Sheryl questioned reaching out and taking Fantasia's hand in hers.

"I'm okay, mommy. I guess I'm just not ready to be away from home for so long. I'm going to miss you all."

"Oh, honey," Sheryl pulled Fantasia into a hug, Keith enveloping his wife and child into his arms. "Mom and Dad will miss you too! And if you ever need us, we will be there immediately. But baby, this is your time to get out and explore who Princess Fantasia is as her own woman. You'll get to experience so much, meet princesses from every kingdom, and maybe even meet your own prince, like I did." Fantasia had always admired her parents' relationship. They were one of the only King and Queen couples to marry for love and not status. The only other royal couple being the Griers. It just so happened that Sheryl had met Keith at a dance the prince charm school had held for the princesses and as they put it, it was love at first sight. Fantasia just hoped one day that she could find that same love.

"I know. I'll call you guys every day."

"And we'll answer every time." Keith promised.

"Okay. Let's get you up and dressed and ready to hop on the pj. Daddy had the staff ship all of your essentials to the castle already so you won't have to lift a finger." Sheryl said, leaving the hug and hustling around the room.

Fantasia sighed and got up after her mother, dropping a quick kiss to her father's cheek before heading into her bathroom.

She could do this.

In a kingdom right next to Harmonia, a princess by the name of Taraji Penda Grier of the kingdom of Briarvale, woke with an energy that could only be rivaled by her energetic mother and father, King and Queen David Alan and Jenifer Jeanette Grier of Briarvale. She heard the bustling of the staff in the hallways and the loud cackles of her parents from the castle stairs. She stretched her arms above her head, jumping out of the bed - turning her swag on- and running out of her room to greet them at the top of the staircase, jumping into their arms.

"Morning, Mama! Morning, Daddy!"

"Well, someone's ready for today! Big day!" David said jovially, picking his little girl up and spinning her around.

"David you better not drop my baby down the stairs!" Jenifer scolded.

"I won't woman! I'd never hurt my princess," he defended, spinning her one more time for good measure.

"Put me down, daddy! Before you give mama a heart attack!" She pleaded, giggling and hitting at his shoulders playfully. David kissed his daughter on the cheek before setting her down, letting her mother hug her and give her a kiss to the forehead.

"Speaking of a heart attack, Jason just made a plate full of your favorite bacon so I'd suggest you get your tail downstairs to eat before it gets cold," Jenifer tells her.

"Yes! Charm school is waiting for you! And I just know that you're going to make friends from the other kingdoms and find you a good prince to marry," David encouraged.

"Or princess, David. Remember?" Jenifer swatted at her husband's arm. David paused for a second, trying to understand what his wife was getting at. It took him a second but he finally landed on it.

"Bisexual," they said simultaneously.

"Riiiight-" "-we went over this, man of mine." "-told you last year, daddy."

"Anyways," Taraji said, "I'm not going to find a spouse. I'm going to learn how to run this kingdom. I'm going to be a queen one day, and I want to be a good one. Just like Mom." Jenifer's heart melted and she smiled, brushing a hand over her daughter's cheek. "And if I happen to find love at charm school like you and the Davids did, then so be it."

"That's right, princess. Now please go get some breakfast. You've got to go and the pj can only fly so fast," Jenifer said, scooting her daughter down the stairs.

Let's do this.
