"I know what the lads are now. They're not Techfolk, They're human."

At this revelation, the three cores split from their fusion and all started talking at you at once. Bayer stays standing watching the lads have a mini meltdown and Lumin just looks confused. While this happens you snag up some pants and a top to put them on.

Lads, shush now. Let Vex explain why they think the way they do.

"Right, so, this voice command in their mainframes. I thought it was familiar to how a human could be conditioned subconsciously but dismissed it because I was working under the assumption they were Techfolk right? When the lads first let me hear each of their individual voices to see if they were the same or not I got hit with images of three different men in my mind. I did some digging in all six of the mainframes and pieced together that these were indeed men that had been alive at some point, I saw that symbol on all three of their files. There was a fourth with no picture as they hadn't found a fourth for their 'top secret' project which was labelled FourthState. Thinking about it now, it all makes bloody sense. FourthState is in reference to what they call the fourth state of matter, plasma, which the lads are. Somehow they encoded that symbol into the lads themselves so when they found the right candidate to make the fourth, it would show up and then the humans who did this could convert them."

But we don't remember anything but being like this? Blue piped up. Remember when you woke us originally from our Titan's, we didn't even know about the core form part of ourselves.

"You won't. When they did the conversion they would have wiped your memories so you wouldn't rebel, it's part of the conditioning, however you kept your personalities, so that kind and caring soldier you are when you're in your Titan Blue? That IS how you are naturally. But that voice isn't the only thing you've had put on you unwillingly. Now Roth is free from it, he may or may not start remembering little bits from his past, I honestly don't know. But knowing what I know now, Blue, Red, if you can give me a day or two between each of you to rest, I might just be able to clear the voice in both of you within the next few days. I just need to double check some things first before I attempt it on either of you."

So, let me get this right. If the humans who did this to the lads were still here, you'd be put through the same process and made into one of them?

"If they hadn't set up somewhere that did it automatically, yeah. From what I've read the fourth would have been conditioned to be the one thing to keep the other three calm and content to never want to leave their frames and to do the job they were meant to do. The lads would protect that fourth as well, with their lives if necessary. It would have had a Titan frame and their own faction too. Luckily for me, those fuckers are dead and I get to keep my lovely human self intact but with how the lads have been with me since they met me, I can see why they've been like it."

Fucking hell. Some humans were so cruel to their own kind.

"Oh I know Bayer. I do wish we hadn't been such a horrid race but maybe you Techfolk can be better than we ever were. All of this information I have here I had to pull piece by piece, word by word and slot it all together so I may have some information wrong but my theory is sound and tracks to be correct."

Would you have any objections for Lumin and myself to look through all this data you've gathered?

"Go right ahead, take pics of my hand written stuff and upload it into a tablet or two if you could though, I kinda need it for double checking some stuff to free the lads."

That's what I was planning on doing. This goes no further than us here in this room however. Until this is confirmed with 100% accuracy there's no point in upsetting the entire Alliance with a maybe. But to be honest, even if it was 100% accurate, I don't know if it would be a good idea for everyone to know. And really, it's nothing to do with anyone else but us.
