(3rd person POV)

This sucks.

I was sitting in school bored out of my mind, looking out the window and watching kids play outside. Man. I want cake right now. Maybe my mom has some at home.

"Jocelyn! Are you paying attention right now?" Ms. Yarrol asked. I side eyed her and shook my head. "Well you better start listening up right now because thanks to you, your classmates have a pop quiz!" I could hear everyone groan. Well, no matter what I know I was gonna pass.

(Time skip)

I walked towards my bus popping my AirPods in and playing Been Away by Brent Faiyaz. Once I got home I made a bee line towards the kitchen trying to find some food. I think without food I would actually die. I saw my dad trying to find food as well.

"Kak, kamu tau dimana kue?" my dad said (Translation: Older sister, do you know where the cake is?)  My dad still loves speaking in Indonesian even after we moved out from that place.

"Aku tidah tau." I said back (Translation: I don't know) I shrugged and saw from the corner of my eye the cake. I quickly grabbed the tupperware and ripped it open, not letting my dad get the first slice of the cake my mom made.

"Oh also I got coffee for you in the fridge. I had some leftovers." My dad said. I nodded handing him the cake bin and reaching for the coffee in the fridge.

"Thanks dad. When does mom get home?" I asked. He shrugged, going back to his little office upstairs. After I finished chugging my coffee I heard my brother come through the door.

"Adek, do you want to go to the mall today?" I asked him. (Translation: Adek= younger brother)

"Sure, I'm bored." he said. He ate his snack and we walked to the mall near our house. It wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst. We shopped for some clothes and food. We were talking and eating McDonalds in the food court. I saw a guy with a suit looking nervous. Hm. Weird. I went back to talking with my brother.

"Uh- excuse me. Miss?" the nervous guy with the suit said. I arched an eyebrow with a fry in my mouth. I quickly ate it and turned towards the guy.

"Yes?" I asked. From the corner of my eye I could see my brother recording.

"CanyoupleasecallthisnumberlaterI'mnotinterestedinyou, butyoulooklikethetypeofpersonweneed." he said in a sentence shoving a card in my hand and running away. I watched him run away before turning back to my brother.

"What a weirdo. Let's go home." I said. He nodded. We made it back home and me and my brother chilled in my room.

"HOLA CHICOSSSS! How are my favorite kids who looks like twins but aren't twins doing? Did ya get anything interesting?" my dad asked, barging into my room, peering into the bags.

"Oh yeah she get something really interesting. And it's a phone number from a guy." my brother said with wiggling eyebrows.

"CALL THEM RIGHT NOW GO GO GO GO GO! I WANT FUTURE GRANDCHILDREN!" my dad said.

"Dad chill. I'm calling him right now." I said. I typed in the number and instantly he picked up.

"Hi is this the girl that the nervous blubber of a man gave you a card?" A voice said.

"Yes." I said. I mouthed to my brother and dad This isn't the same guy. They nodded.

"We are Netflix and we have been searching for people all over the USA for a role to play Toph Beifong in the new Avatar: The Last Airbender Series. We would like you to audition. If you don't want to, it is understandable." he said. My brother and my dad gave signs of approvals with their thumbs up.
