The dogs were running together across the golf course. Intertwining in and out as they ran - they reminded me of a DNA strand.
"They have the whole course, but they always stick together. It's ridiculous."
My dad's words popped into my head while I walked. This was my favourite part of any day. The air is always crisp, and fresh and reminded me that it really was okay. Walking also cleared my head. I looked over to the dam and saw the reflection of the fiery sun. One thing's for sure, this is one damn beautiful place. When I looked up again I saw him standing there. My whole body sent a jolt down my spine and woke up the zoo in my stomach. I knew it wasn't a good idea to see him right now, so I tried to pretend I didn't see him. No such luck. He came to say hello, and he was smiling his brilliant smile.
"Why do you look so happy" I wasn't aware that I was speaking, but I recognised that it was my voice
"I love you too" was his reply
what? Before I could think about it, his arms were around my waist and his lips were on mine and everything was as it should be.
"Jamie, dude are you gonna shower or not"
I opened my eyes and saw Jes' at the end of my bed and realised it was only a dream.
Jesse and I have shared an on-suite bathroom for a year now, and if I wake up before him I shower and wake him up, if he's up before me (which nearly never happens) he wakes me up to shower first. Our system worked
I got up and moved towards the shower, allowing the hot water to run over me, taking the dream with it.
Damn it.
