MARCH QOTW Features

Magandang araw, mga ka-FantasyPH! Isang buwan na naman ang nagdaan, at hindi mawawala ang aming features sa mga lumahok sa aming QOTW! Narito na ang mga katanungan at mga napiling sagot mula sa community ngayong buwan ng Marso.

Ano-ano ang iyong mga paboritong Fantasy story?

Mula kay goddess_aba: Hi! My favorite fantasy story is my own story. A Crown For Throne: Guild Incantation. It is not about plugging or promoting my story but I just want to share how independent and caring the main lead. Nakikita ko kasi ang sarili ko sa karakter na pinili ko, isa siyang bakla na hindi tanggap ng pamilya at gusto na lamang tanggapin ang nakatadhana sa kaniya. Hanggang sa gusto ng karakter na kapag mabubuhay siya ulit ay gagawin niya ang lahat para lang tanggapin siya at mahalin siya ng mga mahahalagang tao sa kaniya.

Ano-ano ang mga hinahanap mo bago ka magsimulang magbasa ng isang Fantasy story?

Mula kay Unravelance: I want a fantasy story in a world that fascinates me. But the world wouldn't matter that much, if you get me to like the characters. Basically, I need characters that I could get attached to since I'm a character-driven reader, not plot-driven. 

Of course, mas okay kung maganda din iyong plot. Siguro introduce the world slowly. And don't make it seem that you're spoonfeeding the readers. Make it seem that the readers are the ones wanting to know the information rather than you forcing them to know such and such information. So I want a main character who surprises me as he/she surprises himself/herself (cause they didn't know that they were capable of something), other characters who have different motivations, (make it seem like all characters can be main characters of their own stories?), cool and cute pets (I'm a sucker for characters having cute magical creatures as their side kicks). 

But it all comes down to how you can hold someone's attention with the story so surprise us readers with your magical worlds.

Kung ikaw ay mapapabilang sa isang Fantasy race, ano ito at bakit?

Mula kay Unravelance: If I'm going to belong to a fantasy race, I would be a "Dreamweaver." Drawing power from the ethereal realm, I could manipulate dreams, emotions, and illusions. My empathetic nature allows me to connect with others on a profound level, influencing their perceptions and emotions through my magical abilities. This race would harmonize with my imaginative spirit, allowing me to shape reality in fantastical ways, creating a rich and immersive experience for both me and those around me in the fantasy world.

Kung ikaw ay makakabalik sa nakaraan, ano ang babaguhin mo sa sarili mo o sa ibang tao at kaganapan?

Mula kay Somniator_lux09: Una kakabisaduhin ko numero ng lotto results na may pinakamataas na premyo tapos tataya ako sa lotto at mananalo. Bibili ako maraming wattpad books at magiging isang mayaman na tao sa Pilipinas. Joke HAHAHA siguro itatama ko na lang lahat ng pagkakamali ko, aaralin ko pa at gagalingan magsulat dahil ngayon, wala na ako masyadong oras para magsulat. Hindi ko rin hahayaan na maging malungkot sa sinasabi ng iba at mabuhay lamang sa paraan na masaya at kontento ako.

Kung magkakaroon ka ng mahika o superpower, ano ang iyong unang gagawin?

Mula kay kleriita: ichichika ko agad sa tropa ko tapos sa kanya ko itetesting para paniwalang-paniwala talaga HAHAHAH

Mula kay YveTheDreamer: Kung mangyari man 'yan, agad akong lalabas ng bahay upang subukan itong paganahin nang naaayon sa aking kagustuhan. Pag-aaralan ko itong mabuti upang magamit sa tama...

Sa iyong pagsusulat ng Fantasy stories, saan kayo nakakakuha ng inspirasyon?

Mula kay Miss_lesaghurl: Bilang isang manunulat ng fantasy stories, madalas na nagiging inspirasyon ko sa pagsusulat ng mga istoryang may tema na pantasya ay ang mga teleserye na napapanood ko sa telebisyon. O di kaya naman ay sa ibang mga fantasy stories na mula sa ibang mga manunulat:))

Sa tingin ninyo, ano-anong subgenres ng Fantasy ang hindi pa gaanong sikat sa Filipino community?

Mula kay blueasbluecanget: Anthropomorphic fantasies like Winnie the Pooh or Animal Farm and fables like Aesop's. in Filipino literature, we have "Si Unggoy at si Pagong" among a few. these genres teach so many lessons, especially anthropomorphic fantasies and fables, and I'm sad to see the lack of attention for them. some might say they're 'for kids' or something you only read in primary school, but no. they're depictions of our world that are (a) fantastic enough to be enjoyable but also (b) realistic enough to be meaningfully didactic. and i believe there's a dire lack and need of both qualities in our current literary landscape.

Maraming salamat sa paglahok sa aming QOTW ngayong Nobyembre. Patuloy na sumagot sa aming mga QOTW para sa pagkakataong ma-feature sa susunod naming issue. Maglagay lang ng comment sa mga messages sa aming message board na may #QOTW. I-follow kami sa para sa iba pang news at opportunities.
