3k word chapter 😘

Shuffling on the sticky bar stool beneath you, you stole glances at the bartender. He was a sort of avian cat demon, with cream and ebony fur, tall pointy ears and fluffy cheeks. He was wearing a dark top hat and suspenders, his look pulled together with a crimson bow-tie.

He seemed to notice you were looking, and shot a glare down at you while idly drying a glass with a rag.

To your left, you noticed a little girl dressed in a flouncy, cardinal-red poodle dress. Her short hair matched the dress, erratic and slightly disheveled. She also had thin black limbs resembling that of an insect, and a pale yellow glowy ring that surrounded her singular pupil.

The cyclops-esque sinner was snickering wildly, slowly lifting her petite frame up to reveal the bloodied splatter of what used to be a juicy chestnut cockroach, the oversized, thin, long sewing needle of hers stuck deep into it's body. ...It looked revolting.

"Oh, you gotta be fuckin' kiddin. Right next to my drink, Niff?" The feline sinner huffed out, snatching a bottle clearly labeled 'Cheap Booze' from the counter into the security of the back shelves. The girl just giggled in response, scooping up the bug's remnants before pausing and offering it to you.

Her eye glittered with disturbing innocence,
"For you!"
You'd almost feel inclined to accept it, almost.
"Uh. No thanks." You mumbled in annoyance while shifting your body away and redirecting your attention elsewhere.

Angel was sat beside you, to your right, making conversation with the bartender who was appearing to be trying to ignore him.
"Awh, c'mon baby, I bet I can make those *wings flap*~ - AAHH!"
He was cut off, being shoved off of him.

"Whoops." The gruff voice mumbled.
Angel fell to the floor, looking up at the other, before scoffing bitterly and glaring away. You wondered if he had taken that rejection to heart, and you also didn't know whether to pity him or not.

Taking a shallow breath, you looked to the grumpy man and eccentric girl.
"Hey," You started, "I'm Y/N. It's nice to meet you two."
You offered a smile.
