Rollercoaster [Motough Fanfic]

chapter 18

"Over." Bethany said quietly. This was the third time she had asked Derek to pull the car over in their thirty minute ride back to her place. She was deeply regretting ever listening to Mark just three hours ago. 

Derek pulled over, and Bethany waited until the car was in park before hopping out and folded over. Derek showed up to her side and held her hair back and continued to rub small circles on her back, until she was ready to get back in the car. 

They finally made it back to Bethany's apartment without anymore stops. Derek scooped Bethany up in his arms bridal style, carried her to her room, and sat her down the bed. 

Bethany immediately put her hands behind her back trying to unzip her dress. "Can you grab me one of the shirts in the bottom drawer over there. Please?" 

Derek did as so, and saw she was still struggling with the zipper. "Do you want some help with that." 

Bethany sighed as she dropped her arms to her sides. "Please." 

Derek unzipped her dress and then turned to face to wall opposite her to give her some privacy. "Derek?" Bethany called, "can you also unhook this?" 

Derek turned around to see Bethany sitting on her bed, facing away from him, with one hand holding her hair to the side and the other holding the tshirt to her chest. "Uh huh,"Derek coughed and did what he was asked, very awkwardly. 

"Thanks," Bethany smiled at him before sliding under her covers and turning to her side. 

Derek picked up her clothes and put them on the chair next to her bed, and got ready to leave when Bethany spoke up again. 

"Will you stay with me tonight?" Bethany asked, her voice small.

"Uh, yeah." Derek said, walking back to her side and sitting down next to her. He kept rubbing her back until he knew she was asleep. Derek leaned over to kiss her forehead whispering "I love you." 

Bethany's eyes fluttered under his touch, but she didn't wake up. 

Derek walked around to the other side of the queen sized bed and laid down on top of the covers with one of her throw blankets draped across him. He reached over to turn out the bedside light, and soon they were both fast asleep.
