Tae had never been outside the city - forget the country. So, when he sat in the plane (for the first time after the Jeon family crying drama) he clutched onto Jungkook like a lost baby.
He was so excited for his new life but more than the high school or the dream of living in the most happening country - he was more excited about living with his boyfriend.
This was all like a dream come true. But it wasn't a dream.
"Baby?" Jungkook shook Tae's arm as the cab stopped before Tae's high school.
Tae had again dozed off in Jungkook's lap.
"Mhhh - wha- what?" yawning he opened his eyes and sat back properly.
He saw Jungkook paying the cab driver. The only source of transportation was his brother's old car which they had given for repair.
Clutching onto Jungkook's hand, Tae entered his new high school. This was nothing like the schools he had seen in American movies or TV series. Jungkook had purposely selected a mediocre one with discipline, and orderliness but progressive and liberal thinking, especially in terms of the LGBTQ community.
"I will do the talking," Jungkook informed as they entered the principal's office.
Tae smiled holding Jungkook's hand tight.
The office of the principal was bland and boring. It was small with a large table and a few cupboards. The principal himself looked extremely boring and old.
Smiling at the Jeons he asked them to take a seat. He did look like the principal of an army school.
Handing some paperwork to Jungkook, he chatted a little with Tae. Jungkook had briefed Principal Brown about Tae's academic and family history.
When Mr. Brown went through the forms, he adjusted his glasses and asked baffled, "Taehyung is 20, right?"
Jungkook and Tae nodded their head.
"He will be 21 soon," Jungkook informed squeezing Tae's hand.
Blinking, Mr. Brown asked glancing at both, "Then - um - how come it says he's married to you?"
Tae bit his lip and tried to hide his surprise.
Batting his eyelashes he glanced at Jungkook who had his attention on Mr. Brown.
"He is married to me. You see we are from Korea - in our country same-sex marriage is not legal. But our grandparents had already planned our marriage since a long time. I know we have a huge age gap. But despite all that, we got along and got married in Korea. But we did all that in our temple. A small temple of our country. We aren't married legally which we will once he completes graduation. But as per our culture, and traditions we have already tied the knot. So I want everyone here to know him as my husband - as Jeon Taehyung."
