Lloyd POV
I tossed and turned in my bed, unable to sleep. I felt like something was wrong. Then I threw my covers off and snuck to Cole's room to check on Beckett. Sure enough, he was having a nightmare again. I opened the window and slipped through, closing it when I dropped into the room. I took Kai's favorite blanket from the closet and put it on the ground and pulled an extra pillow, too. I laid on top of the blanket, until I fell asleep.

When I opened my eyes, I wasn't surprised when I saw Beckett huddled next to me. This had become routine, almost. Whenever he had nightmares, I'd sneak in and sleep on the floor, and he'd join me and we'd both get a good night's sleep for once. It stopped being awkward after a little while. I slipped out from under the blanket, careful not to wake him. My heart aching, I brushed some hair out of his face. Lloyd, what are you doing? I pulled my hand back. You idiot, what if you woke him up? I quickly left the room, going to get a drink of water. Lloyd, you absolute goofy goober, I thought to myself. Beckett? Yeah, likely story. When has anyone ever loved you? I shook my head, attempting to stop the thoughts from hurting me further. Harumi only wanted to get close to you. I tried to push the hateful thoughts away, but they just kept coming and coming. I felt my body fall to the floor, and I clutched my head. Shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up!!!

"Oh my gosh, are you okay?" I looked up. Nya. I sighed with relief. My big sister ran to me and held me tightly. "Is it happening again?"
I nodded, crying a little. "I can't stop it!"
Nya shushed me, coursing her fingers through my hair like a mother. "It's okay, Lloyd. I'm here. Have you told Beckett?"
"No," I choked through a sob. "I can't. I can't tell him about this!"
"Why?"
"I—" I felt my heart aching again. "I don't know. But whenever I do something stupid around him, it happens again! And sometimes they just won't shut up!"
Nya held me closer. "Maybe you should tell him. You help him with his nightmares, he helps you with your... um, problem. Why don't I get you some water?"
Nya came back with the water and I sat on the floor, rocking slowly. Nya gave me a sympathetic look as I sipped the water. "Thank you, for everything."
"Yeah, what are sisters for?"
