Omniscient
Sincere smiled as she leaned her head on the wall, watching Que pick the little kids up and lift them in the air one by one. There was a whole line of eager kids waiting to be picked up. Today was career day and Que had come to talk to the older kids like he'd promised. After talking to them he'd ended up staying behind and he'd somehow been tasked with lifting the younger kids in the air.
Que looked up, catching Sincere's eyes and giving her a smile. Sincere blushed biting her lip. He lifted the last kid in line in the air before making his way towards her. She smoothed down her hair as he made his way over. It was crazy how he still could make her nervous after all this time. "Are you going to lift me in the air next?" Sincere joked as he approached her.
Que's eyes scanned her body. "I think you're over the weight limit." He smirked.
"Shut up." Sincere laughed, hitting his arm. "You looked like you were having fun over there."
"I was, you know I like kids. Not as much as you, but I like them."
"I can tell." Sincere laughed. "How much longer are you staying?"
"You trying to get rid of me?"
"No." Sincere laughed. "I'm actually enjoying you."
"I can stay for as long as you want me to."
Sincere and Que's conversation was interrupted by a distressed Noelle. Que chuckled as he watched Noelle hug Sincere's leg. Sincere picked the little girl up.
"What's wrong big girl?" She questioned. Instead of responding, Noelle tucked her face into Sincere's neck. In the two and a half weeks Sincere had been working here Noelle had grown very comfortable with her. When she was overstimulated, she would come to her and just lay on her. Sincere would rub her back and rock her gently, sometimes she would even sing to her.
"Hey, I have someone I want you to meet." Noelle slowly removed her head from Sincere's shoulder, looking at Que. "This is my husband Que."
"Hey, what's your name?" He questioned.
"Noelle." She mumbled shyly.
"That's pretty. Can I get a high five?" He questioned, sticking his hand out. Noelle gave him a high five and a small smile.
"It's about to be nap time, so I'm going to go ahead and lay her down." Que nodded, going to stand by a nearby wall.
He stood on the wall watching Sincere and Noelle interact. Sincere had a natural nurturing spirit when it came to kids. Que knew he said he was fine with not having kids, but he wasn't so sure now. Seeing her interact with kids, bought that desire back. He knew she was capable of becoming a wonderful mother someday and he wanted to witness it. He wanted her to witness it also. Deep down, he believed that she wanted kids, she was just scared.
"I need to talk to you about something." Que spoke as he and Sincere laid in the bed later that night.
"Is it bad?" Sincere questioned.
"Not really."
"What is it?" Que sighed; he didn't know how she would react to what he was about to say.
"I still want kids." He confessed.
"Where is this coming from?" Sincere questioned with a frown on her face. Ever since she'd told him she didn't want kids they hadn't brought it back up.
"I saw you with Noelle today and you interacting with her made me think of how it would be to see you interact with a child of our own."
"You said you were fine with me not wanting kids."
