Unforeseen Reunion

CHAPTER 3

"arghhhhhh"

My head hurts like hell! Maybe because of too much stress this past few weeks especially last week as it is our second sem midterms exams. It is our academic break this week and we're planning to go to Zambales with my friends today. I even forgot to pack my things.

I get my phone to call them to ask if it is okay to move our travel tomorrow, however, when I open our group chat, I found out that Sharia can't come because they have an earlier duty while Rina is busy with her projects and activities.  I just told them it's okay since I understand them and they have a valid reason. There are still next time though.

I still manage to stand up to see who's knocking at my door. Nanghihina pa ako habang naglalakad papunta sa may pintuan.

"What do you need?" I ask James as soon as I open my door and saw him there and was about to knock again at my door.

"Are you okay?" He ask instead of answering my question. "Yeah I'm fine" I answered even though I'm not. He didn't believe me and he just put the back of his palm in my forehead and to my neck also.

"You're hot" he said.

"I will be fine. So, what are you doing here?" I ask him again. Medyo nanghihina na ako at parang gustong pumikit ng mga mata ko, then the last thing I knew everything went black.

I woke up feeling a little better and I saw James seating in my mini couch here in my room while reading his law book. Tinanggal ko naman ang bimpo na nasa noo ko dahil I feel a little uncomfortable with it.

"You're awake! How are you feeling?" He ask gently as he walk towards me.  I look at the clock and it's already lunch time.

"I'm fine. I'm sorry if I disturb you" Hindi ko na tinanong kung ano nangyari after I passed out since it is very obvious. He take care of me even if we're not that close.

"It's fine. Stay here. I'll just get you some food and medicine" in fairness, he is a caring man. He may be a cold or masungit man, but his charisma is so cool and he got a good personality. I guess I have a crush on him

O my gosh! What am I even thinking? He just took care of me and nothing at all.

"You cook?" Tanong ko sa kanya nang makita ang mainit na sopas na dala Dala nya pagkapasok ng room ko.

"Yeah. Eat so you can take your medicine" I smiled at him and thank him. Sinubuan nya Naman ako dahil nanginginig ang kamay ko Nung hinawakan ko ang kutsara. Uminom na rin ako ng gamit pagkatapos.

"Take a rest and just call me when you need something. I'll just have to study" Saad nya Bago bumalik sa couch at pinagpatuloy ang pagbabasa.

"Wala Kang pasok?" Tanong ko dahil baka may klase pala sya. Kasalanan ko pa kung Hindi sya makakapasok.

"I do have but don't worry it's an online class. Take a rest " he answered. Natulog ulit ako dahil medyo mabigat pa ang pakiramdam ko.

Nagising ako at gabi na at mabuti nalang guminhawa na ang pakiramdam ko. Usually, pag nagkakatrangkaso ako, umaabot hanggang bukas pero ngayon, ambilis mawala ng sakit ko. Ang galing Naman nya mag alaga.

Lumapit Naman ako Kay James na busy sa laptop nya at Mukhang nagka klase kaya siguro Hindi nya napansin ang paglapit ko sa kanya. Open cam kaya sa kabilang couch ako umupo. Tumingin naman sya sa akin at nag thumbs up lang when he ask if I'm okay.

Ilang months na rin ang lumipas at palagi na kaming magkasamang mag study ni James. We became friends after that day and unti unti ko syang nakikilala. He really is a good and humble person. I don't know pero there's something in me na parang gusto ko na sya pero sometimes parang Hindi. I don't know.

"Want to come with me in Maldives?" O my gosh! One of my favorite place though once lang ako  nakapunta doon. Sobrang ganda kasi don and so relaxing.

"Tayong dalawa lang?" I ask and he nods as a response.

"Bakit? I thought Kasama natin mga friends natin or family?" I curiously ask Kasi you know baka ma issue. Like Maldives as a friend?

"Just the two of us and don't worry pinagpaalam na kita sa family mo" casual nyang saad kaya sumang ayon nalang ako since I really love Maldives.

"When is our flight then?" I ask para Naman makapag prepare.

"Tonight, so pack your things" eh? What the hell!

"I thought the other day man lang or bukas pero ngayon talaga?"

"Yeah at huwag ka na magreklamo and one week Tayo doon para Naman masulit mo" I don't have a choice, but to pack my things. Sya Naman ay nakapag impake na. Mabuti nalang at Wala kaming pasok ng one week dahil academic break.

"You know what? Tulungan mo kaya ako dito" Sabi ko sa kanya dahil nag ce cellphone lang sya Habang ako nag rurush mag impake.

"Okay boss baby" what? Did I hear him call me baby or baka sa ka chat nya lang. Hayst huwag assuming dahil baka sa ka chat nya Yun.

Binalewala ko nalang Yun at hinayaan syang tulungan akong mag impake. I just told him na kahit 3 days lang kami doon kasi may project pa akong tatapusin.

"Here I come Maldives!"  I exclaimed excitedly bago pumasok sa private jet na pagma may-ari ng nya. It was a gift from his dad on his 20th birthday.

"Thank you for this trip" I said while looking at the clouds.

"You're welcome and you deserve it" I just smiled at him and kiss his cheeks that makes him stunned for a moment.

"Hey! Are you okay?" I ask him nang mapansin ko na parang nag freeze ang body nya. Hindi ba Naman gumagalaw after that kiss.

"Y-yeah, I'm f-fine" nauutal pa na parang nakakita ng multo.

Nakatulog ako buong byahe and paggising ko nasa Maldives na kami. Parang natulog lang ako ng 10 minutes sa sobrang bilis ng byahe.

"Sorry" I said Nung mapansin na nakasandal na pala ang ulo ko sa shoulder nya. As if Naman Hindi palaging nangyayari pag magkasama kami sa byahe.

"It's fine. let's go" lumabas na kami at ramdam ko na agad ang masarap na simoy ng hangin. Nag check in muna kami sa hotel at dahil fully booked ang hotel ay sa iisang room na kami. Okay Naman sa akin since I am comfortable and I feel safe around him.

"Bilisss. I wanna watch the sunset" excited na akong mapanood ang sunset and it is one of my dreams to watch sunset here in Maldives. Last time Kasi e nakatulog ako kaya I didn't get the chance to watch it.

Ang daming couple na nag aabang din sa sunset pero I don't care. I have a friend here Naman.

Umupo na kami Habang pinapanood ang paglubog ng araw. I took a video of it and also a picture as remembrance. Nagpapicture rin kami. He place his hand around my waist which makes me stunned at tumingin pa ako sa kanya dahil sa gulat kasabay nun ang pag click ng camera. When I saw our picture, it looks good and we look like a couple.

"Leanne" he called me.

"Hmm"

"I have something to tell you" tumingin naman ako sa kanya at Hindi ko alam kung bakit ambilis ng tibok ng puson ko.

"I like you, no, I love you" he sincerely said before the sun completely said. I don't know what to say. My heart beats fast and I was too stunned to speak. I was just looking at him while he is waiting for my answer.
